None of that however is evidence of inflating the US economy to appear more powerful than it is, which is what I meant......and what China have done. Edited by Stirlingsays (19 Jun 2018 8.54pm)

Turkey has finished construction on its 764km border wall with Syria. Where's the outrage – or is it only reserved for the US? The Turkish army have apparently openly fire indiscriminately on refugees crossing from Syria. Where's the outrage – or is that only reserved for Israel? [Tweet Link]

Edited by Penge Eagle (19 Jun 2018 9.18pm) Israel would never build a wall as c**p as that. If that's what Trump is thinking of with Mexico I am surprised they didn't agree !!

In my view automation is a far more prescient problem than the financial armageddons that you predict. I've been listening to this record since 2009. The systems will alternate between boom and bust like they have always done....sometimes larger, sometimes smaller. When we have the next big downturn......That's when companies will look to shed jobs and really buy into automation. That's what is going to hurt......That requires solutions and universal basic income isn't on the agenda at the moment. Edited by Stirlingsays (19 Jun 2018 9.53pm)

'That's when companies will look to shed jobs and really buy into automation'. That didn't happen after 2008 though did it, which surprised me, and particularly that employment was pretty much sustained.

Those Chinese started it 2700 years ago with their Great Wall. Started a trend to keep people out who you don't really want coming in for many reasons. Damned clever those Chinese.
