From what i understand, only 4 of the 5 houses can be compulsory purchased. The other, a privately owned property cannot purchased on behalf of a private company by the council. Maybe a crock of sh*te but the grapevine tells me the fella doesn't want to sell. Also i don't think Sainsbury's will sell (allow the use) the section of car park that is needed for the Main Stand. Ever since consultations started a few years back, light has always been a very big issue and will be, especially because of the height of the new proposed Main Stand. Anyone remember back in the 80's when Noades had the model of his proposed new stadium built. He put it near the doorway as you walked into the reception area of the Old Stand. We all marvelled at what we thought he was going to bring. I hope this new stand gets built and doesn't end up the bs that consistently run along side this club. Still, if all goes well with successful planning and building, it could well be ready for the 2024/25 season, if at all. All food for thought. This is true...

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave Yeah the Noades design is very 90s Italian and I quite like it (though our current new Main Stand design is better). Noades said he bought the air space above Sainsbury's and I think you'd need to build over it in order to have a two-tier Whitehorse stand. That's not represented on his model, though I appreciate it's probably just a rough indication... Edited by Penge Eagle (22 Jan 2018 4.15pm)

So this is how the antis plan to attack the project. Good of them to lay their cards on the table so early. If you cant attack the mertis, attack the people presenting them. Dorking's post made it clear the demolition of either 4 or 5 homes was likely. So, how light were the details? Only if you were listening selectively. When they built the South stand at Twickenham in 2005 the RFU had to buy and demolish 6 four bedroom houses (24 bed spaces). There planning concent said they had to replace them with 48 bed spaces. So far nothing has happened and the council aren't pursuing it. The cash strapped council is more likely to see this as a revenue generating project... How much money can they get for upgrade local roads as a result of the impact? I don't think anyone in their right mind could claim that they were unaware of an intention to redevelop Selhurst. Attempts have been going on since the 1990's. There's one clearly newer stand that towers the rest. Steve Parish had been making statements about it since 2010. The ground has been pretty much sold out for every league game since 2013/14. The announcement was front page local news, it made national sports news. Sainsbury's have repeatedly made statements saying they are unaware of any plans... surely you can only be unaware once?

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave Golam Choudhury, 57, and his wife Syeda, 50, have lived in their three storey, four-bedroom terrace house for 20 years. Their daughter Julie, 27, said: “It’s a very sad time, all our memories are here and my parents invested so much into making this their home.” Another resident whose home is at risk said: “I have been living here 17 years. It was quite a bombshell they dropped on us. My main concern is where are they going to put us? My son will have to move school.”

Have they ever been on housing benefit? They won't have to move to the midlands. Not even out of the borough.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave Not even out of their ward I suspect. These are 4 bed council houses. The first guy to be interviewed a couple of days ago admitted all his kids had grown up and he needed to move to downsize anyway. Todays interviewees include a woman asking about her child who goes to school. So only 1 child in a 4 bed house? Sorry to sound like an utter b**tard but it is no bad thing if all these peoples actual current housing need is reassessed, as large families that might need them might be better housed in the 4 bedroomed houses which CPFC will have to provide in replacement for these (to be) demolished ones.

Totally agree with all this. They didn't worry about accepting 4 bed council houses near a football ground, who have been trying to expand for longer than they have lived there. Compo on their agenda?

That's a cost. An investment is something you do to make a profit.
