I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like. |

Abortion is permitted in Indonesia in cases where a woman has been raped something JRM is opposed to. Isn't that a too high a standard to hold people too? For example, is it wrong for someone opposed to nuclear weapons to hold government bonds?

As far as I am aware the CoE's main role is not in financial investments. Mr Rees Mogg's business is direct investments into specific companies. And these are closely managed: At the core of Somerset’s philosophy lies a belief in transparency. We are open about our ownership structure and our portfolios. Uniquely, we invite key clients to join an advisory board which meets annually, encouraging an effective alignment of interest between the partnership and our investors. To me the words alignment of interest are fascinating.

Somerset Capital may well be closely managed but not by Mr Rees-Mogg who has played no part in investment decisions since 2010

A firm awarded a government contract to provide extra ferry services has used website terms and conditions apparently intended for a takeaway food firm. Seaborne Freight was given the £13.8m contract to run a freight service between Ramsgate and Ostend in the event of a no-deal Brexit. Its original terms and conditions advised customers to check goods before "agreeing to pay for any meal/order". Not bad eh 13.8 millions upfront, only one thing could be happening here. They will do a runner. Brexit means brexit.
