Not really true Portsmouth was a club way before had money issues look through the clubs history.

They have new owners come in that run it the same as before and having the likes of Harry Redknapp what you expect that guy destroys clubs.

Wigan had been battling relegation and switching managers they then was relegated also they had new overs come in but due to timing covid hit this is what put them in trouble.

The (not so) secret is out, Joel Ward is the new Club Captain . . . [Link]

Can't see us getting a RB this season.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

I have a feeling we'll see a forward line which will provoke most to think 'I hope this isn't our forward line all season'.

Yes, i hope our front for is against Villa, Either:

Franca
New Eze Olise or

New
Franca Eze Olise, if Olise goes then a replacement obviously

I have the feeling in ten years time I’m gonna hear/read the phrase ‘looks like we’re sticking with Ward at RB again’

I love Joel but hope club captain is more a ceremonial role as opposed to indicative of his first team inclusion. Was 5 years ago AWB emerged and I thought ‘thank goodness’ as it was time to move in from Wardy in that position. Can feel as though we’ve not moved on when I see him pop up there in lieu of other options available.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

No striker, no right back. Nice to see Dougie earning his corn again.

There's a fascination article in The Athletic about Dougie and how he and the recruitment team operate. Dougie certainly earns his corn. Of course, you could always help him out by giving him £100m so he can buy the striker and RB that you want.

Adama Traore is going to Fulham on a free. I am sure we are working on great deals for other quick, relatively tricky wingers ON A FREE TRANSFER so we won't regret missing out /s

I am staggered we aren't all over this as a free transfer.

There was a reason he spent more time on the bench at Wolves than on the field. He's horribly inconsistent, with his poor performances far outweighing his good ones. In fact the Henry Wadsworth poem about the little girl comes to mind.

"When he (instead of she) was good he was very very good but when he was bad he was horrid."

Quite. Built like a rugby league player. When good oppo just bounce off him. When bad...

I suspect this is a move from one bench to another albeit one better paid, in London and in a team that won't go down.

We need a striker to lead the line from kick off match after match.
