Cameron, Osborne, their glamorous chum and the great Uber stitch-up ! Corruption by a conservative prime minister, his chancellor and a conservative mayor of London,,,,very worrying that this is the best we can do in 2017,,,,lest we forget! Yeh, only boris is left in the current government, but that so many people love this rabble does fill me with dread, i think corbyn isnt a bad guy and maybe the press are scared of his honesty, do we really care if he doesnt tax anyone on under £80k a year? The press dont like hearing an honest politician, and i dont dislike theresa may btw, was suprised the daily mail broke the corruption story on march 25, wondered why,,think its because they knew the cat was out of the bag and there might be lots more to come ! I think him wanting to run this country's security like CND might have something to do with it...especially when we have an aggressive Russia and China doubling it's military size every ten years.

I'm more than a little peeved this morning. Many on here laughed at me when I said that I'd had a bet at 100-1 in Summer of 2015 with Paddy Power that the winner of the next General Election would be a party that doesn't exist yet. At the time I said that Corbyn would be unelectable and that UKIP would have no need to exist after the referendum. OK, I lost the bet. However, it was the right bet, wrong country. I'm doing the same bet again after June 8th. France has proved that the centre Left has no one to vote for and there is a massive vacuum that can be filled.
Living down here does have some advantages. At least you can see them cry. |

You sound like that kind of person I can debate with, an independent person not too attached to ideology. I may disagree with you on policies and so on but we can have discussions on points of difference. I think I tend to agree that the tories are always likely to have more corruption as they are the party with more elites and money in it....and those people tend to be more self interested. That said, they by no means are on their own with that one...but we are talking percentages. Still, that's a separate argument from whether this or that policy is better for the country/world stroke worldview. I think an argument can be made that the working class are better off with socially compassionate conservatives running the economy and country rather than an ideological progressive Labour party which wants to right every wrong within human nature and society....Are these Tories socially compassionate? We shall see. I think Labour hit a lot of truth on at least some of the moral arguments (Defence and EU aside) but I tend to find their solutions would not only kills the disease but the patient as well. Thanks sterling, i agree with a lot of what you said. i just dont like the what ever the government do is right tories, and what ever anyone else says , including corbyn, is nuts! The uber thing was just an eye opener of just how corrupt these guys can be, on all sides, ive worked in the house of commons, and as you probably know, all the politicians are in the same job, all be it different parties, and all lunch together, drink together, laugh together, we shouldnt take it to seriously!
