Whilst the thread is about "fake news" involving "Tommy Robinson" the discussion underway is specifically about his recent conviction.

Your comments about Islam are all very familiar. I have heard them thousands of times before from those who sit in your corner. I have no comments to make about the Islamic religion. Or any other religion. I don't care what religion people believe in. I only care what they do as individuals, just as I don't care what colour your skin is, or what you do in bed, unless it is unlawful.

If a religious person spreads hatred and/or harms others because of their beliefs then they need to be stopped and punished. If they keep those beliefs to themselves and within their own circle, without involving anyone else, then that's fine.

I do not believe that proselytising should be permitted in public, by any Church. Religion should be banned from all schools completely and taken off main stream media. If you want it, you ought to have to find it. There ought to be no public religious displays of any kind and no public prayers.

So you see my own views are not just about Islam. They are involve ALL religion and in this matter I accept that I am an extremist. I am anti public religion.

It's defeatist attitudes like this that make me want to puke.

Nothing of what you predict will happen. New immigrants have always tended to gather together during their early years and then spread out as they become westernised and assimilate. Savile town, because of it's industrial past, has attracted immigrants from India and pakistan for a very long time to work in the mills. It's hardly surprising that newcomers went there too, as it had become run down, and had enough surplus housing capacity. It's an extreme example and hardly typical of the UK as a whole, either now or in the future.

You seem obsessed by the fact that I live in Cornwall, as if that fact stops me travelling or my brain working. You don't have to live in Mayfair to know that only the rich can afford to live there, or that new immigrants will move on and out from ghettos, or improve them, once they have established themselves.

As I have said many times "Robinson" is certainly imperfect but he is no hero. What he has done, and continues to try to do, is to make things worse and not better. With him, and with you, I hear plenty of complaints but not one practical idea on how to improve things, other than to cut out immigration. Some on your side of the argument propose the "send them back" solution. I haven't yet heard anyone speak of a "final solution" but the aroma of punishment pervades the atmosphere in certain quarters. It's this harnessing of extremist philosophy which makes "Robinson" such a dangerous icon of the far right. I suppose you approve of setting up "re-education" centres like China has done!

We are where we are and a slow integration is much the better way. It just needs time, patience and understanding. I fully accept that there are greater challenges in doing this with some of the newer immigrants than with some others, but that only means we must work harder. Not just give up as you seem to have.

At least you made me laugh. The idea that anyone in the future will build a statue of "Robinson" is such a bizarre concept that it made me giggle. It ain't going to happen.

As someone who would like to see all religions removed from public view there is lot left to do but attacking just one is not the way forward.

On this we agree.

The problem is that we are allowing thousands upon thousands of overtly religious people to settle and breed here.

We are turning our largely secular country into a new outpost of Islam along with other assorted religions.

How does this fit with your vision for a country of private only faith?
