Interesting that there is no date on the article, Speronis the venue of the meeting closed down in 2016!

Are you thinking of the restaurant owned by Julian Speroni?

Mr George Ross, a resident of one of the social housing properties in Wooderson Close has spoken out about the redevelopment to the Croydon Advertiser. Mr Ross was informed by way of a letter to his house and then one visit from a council officer to tell him he would be moving if the plans are approved.

Mr Ross is quoted as saying “We will be rehoused and there is talk of some compensation being paid. The council have promised they are going to find a like-for-like house as much as possible. If everything goes well with their application, we will have to move sometime between March and April. We can appeal the process but there won’t be much point if the application goes through.”

Mr Ross should count himself lucky, the scrounger will get
Compensation as well as new council housing. Touch.

One of the houses is privately owned. The rest I think are housing association.

Sounds like it isn't him but THE ONE isn't being cooperative which I'm sure most wouldn't be.

I was told at the Thursday consultation, that the one which is privately owned is rented out and the landlord lives abroad and was hard to get hold of.

From what i understand, only 4 of the 5 houses can be compulsory purchased. The other, a privately owned property cannot purchased on behalf of a private company by the council. Maybe a crock of sh*te but the grapevine tells me the fella doesn't want to sell.

Also i don't think Sainsbury's will sell (allow the use) the section of car park that is needed for the Main Stand.

Ever since consultations started a few years back, light has always been a very big issue and will be, especially because of the height of the new proposed Main Stand.

Anyone remember back in the 80's when Noades had the model of his proposed new stadium built. He put it near the doorway as you walked into the reception area of the Old Stand. We all marvelled at what we thought he was going to bring.
He instead built the Holmesdale on a budget that'd you'd struggle to get a 2* holiday in Skegness.

I hope this new stand gets built and doesn't end up the bs that consistently run along side this club. Still, if all goes well with successful planning and building, it could well be ready for the 2024/25 season, if at all.

All food for thought.

Anyone have a picture of the Nodes stadium model ?

Check the Croydon Advertiser website. Otherwise the best description I could give it was totally enclosed structure a la Sunderland, Boro or Bolton.
