But what about those hot dogs eh......and long legged girls from California.

Ah the wistfulness of being 49......Not that I couldn't jump on a plane and get that hot dog.....regardless of how absurdly uneconomic that would be.

Brexit hasn't actually happened yet Stevie......This is like analysing the affects of the French revolution before 1789.

The question was "what's this got to do with brexit?"

I was merely attempting to draw attention to that part of the article that was to do with Brexit, which the poster appeared to have missed.

How's the drinking going?

Do you mean Viennas as they're known to the Anglo Jewish community? The humble frankfurter was introduced to the USA by German and Austrian Jewish immigrants. In Hungary they're called Bécsi virsli, Bécs being the Hungarian name for Vienna.

If you're looking for an authentic US, Viennese hot dog made in the UK I can recommend these..

Expensive but then quality normally is.

PS and because your entire agenda is determined by the need to blame immigrants, you'll probably be tempted to point out that the USA is a nation of immigrants. A melting pot of different cultures, thrown together by the vagaries of immigration and the slave trade. It's the blacks, the hispanics, loonies with guns etc. No wonder they have such a high murder rate.

But by using statistics it would be easy to make a correlation between GDP/capita and homicide. Poorer countries having a higher murder rate even when those countries have experienced little if any immigration. Statistics just like patriotism can be the last refuge of the scoundrel.

When it comes to saying I blame immigrants....that's just a cliche used to parody the argument or you just genuine don't believe those who make the points.

I mainly blame the politicians who let them in and the activists who support them. These are the real people to blame. Saying I blame immigrants isn't accurate because the reality is that most people within anyone group aren't violent or prone to criminality.....It's a numbers game.....but it's very true that there are significant differences between groups.

The US was not a melting pot of immigrants before 1965.....that's when it really opened up its doors. Before then it was overwhelmingly a European demographic.

The statistics, when analysed fairly, don't lie. Poorer countries have higher murder and crime rates.....just as significantly poorer areas within richer countries have higher murder and general crime rates.....Similarly if we track the groups within those areas we can track the crime rates there also.

On average crime rates between different groups of similar poverty also differ......No one is going to publicize this stuff of course.....The truth is apparently a terrible thing.

When we look into why the truth isn't always so palatable as to be politically correct....so nothing gets done....nor will it be. In a sense, this stuff was lost in the sixties....Wilson and Heath fecked the country.

Speaking the truth is rarely popular......and being popular and having people nod along to you and think you're a good person is more important than the truth to some people.

But hey....social liberalism has got us here....lets see Labour people like Sadiq Khan solve the problem.

Except for the Chinese and people of African origin who were both there in considerable numbers well before 1965. Perhaps there were others, I can't be arsed to look.

But this is the bit that interests me the most.

I'll follow up later.

Even in New Orleans and the surrounding areas where the entire economy was dependent upon slave labour? I think not. Immigration is always localised.

according to this less than half the population was white in 1805. I guess as you moved into the countryside that figure would go down a lot more..

I was nearly right.

In 1960 America was 85 percent white and 11 percent black and 3.5 percent hispanic, 0.6 Asian.

In 2011 it was 63 percent white and 12 percent black and 17 percent hispanic, 5 percent Asian.

Soon enough the Republicans will never win another election.....I see the country breaking up once the old generation of republicans die off.
