You just love trawling through my posts nit-picking to try to find a little mud to throw. It's a real obsession. Don't you have anything useful to do?

The truth here is that I was responding to the suggestion that the licence fee equated to a tax, when it isn't. It's a ring-fenced fee.

That part of the BBC's revenue comes from taxation, via the government, to support the BBC World Service is certainly true, as it that it gets revenue from its commercial businesses.

I seldom trawl through your posts but in this case I remembered your pomposity and decided to act.

Do you have nothing better to do than being a pompous bore?

The truth here is your inconsistency to suit your narrative is pitiful. The posting equivalent of tailoring evidence.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

They conserve nothing of traditional conservative values.

They are only interested in conserving their bank account levels.

I have nothing against fiscal common sense....however, that alone does not a conservative make.

Ask many years if ago and they’d be upset the BBC wasn’t going to be funded by the licence fee. Opinions have now changed, as will the BBC.

If our politics remain as they are then I fear you will be right. The downward spiral into populism doesn't appear to have reached the bottom yet. I think we will all have to suffer quite a lot more before the need for a revival of standards is capable of being sold as the way forward.

Then we need an inspirational, charismatic and transparently honest leader to emerge who can command the trust and respect of all, even those who disagree with them politically.

Much as I disliked much of her politics I respected Thatcher as a genuine leader who knew where she wanted to go, how to get there and possessed the determination not to be diverted. She knew emasculating the Unions was essential, so she did it. She knew we needed the EU but only on our terms, so she got them.

We need another real leader who wants to serve. Not any more opportunists seeking office for the glory.

The real truth is all you ever do is post personal insults, trawled up by an over active imagination.

With the utmost respect you need to read things more carefully before firing off both barrels.

There is a lot of pheasant shooting around here. I suspect you with a shotgun would frighten more flies than pheasants.

I would like to be responding to your opinion on the BBC, but cannot, as your comment is just a personal attack.

If you find my presence here so distasteful please just ignore my posts. I won't mind in the least.

To me trouble with the BBC isn’t necessarily political bias in their news reporting but the fact that almost all their programming is of zero interest.
The same goes for ITV but we don’t have to pay for that.

The dramas are pretty good. I’m. I’m not into period dramas but they’re apparently excellent. Where the dramas produced by these companies and producers would go, if there are any buyers, would be interesting. Most of the itv dramas are absolute sh1te. Things like ‘The Bay’ and other low brow dramas with basic scripts and cr&ppy dialogue. Watch most of them and you’d like the hours wasted refunded to you.

Arrogant pomposity such as yours needs to be called out and I shall do so when I see it, especially for self appointed arbiters of the truth.

WE has as much right to be arrogantly pompous as you do to be argumentative.

Please confine your comments to the post subject matter - not the poster!

Well, WE is also argumentative.....In fact I'd say that is his main interest.

Anyone regularly reading his posts knows he is no saint, indeed I'd call him a deliberate troll who looks for reactions. Then when receiving them he cries victim whenever he is criticised. Apparently he can post at others who ask him to stop, yet he should be treated with the upmost respect.

Agree with all of this.

I know people think I am an anti BBC nutjob but the same applies for me with ITV and C4 I simply am not interested in their terrible programs but at least I don't have to pay for them.

You Tube is the future and it is free. Loads of documentaries, old black and white films (which I love) and the occasional HD modern movie.

All the albums you could care for to download for free too.
