This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Wilf Ban' by Midlands Eagle Wilf deserved to be sent off for his reaction and silly clapping lucky he didn't see red against the spuds on Sunday as he did the same. Wilf your 26 with 150 premier games grow up. Complain verbally when fouled but cut out the chavey clappy nonsense.

Yes he was constantly being fouled, yes the ref did not protect him, but, do what other top class players do, get up and just get on with the game. Every team now know (if they didn't before) just keep winding him up and he will blow !!

It has been brought up elsewhere. Edited by The Dolphin (31 Jan 2019 11.27am) This with knobs on. Wilf had been being picked on in a highly professional way, knowing that there was a chance something would eventually tip him over the balance. Jedi would have got that. He would have seen the issue arising, stepped in and taken the Yellow himself by facing up to Ward Prowse. He would then have made sure Ward Prowse ended the game with less skin on his bones than he started with. Our enforcers should be Luka and Mamadou. Ayew did his best but come on... Maybe we need a coach to teach the dark arts, otherwise our flair players are going to get hurt.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Wilf Ban' by Midlands Eagle I cannot wait until VAR is brought in for EVERY premier league game. I'm beyond angry now at the shoddy standards of refereeing. Yes, refs are human, but some are either plain biased or simply blind and useless! I believe there should be a thorough monitoring of refs each week and those who make egregious decisions should be disciplined/counseled etc. It's lunacy that games (and vital points) can be determined by poor reffing. And don't get me started on Zaha. Aside from his behavior ffs let's have the FA monitor the attacks on him and brief their referees to stamp out the sickening fouls that he's plagued with game after game. Just because Hazard never 'complains' doesn't mean Wilf should continue to be hacked down. I wish there was something more I could do other than just verbalize my fury on this thread. Thanks for listening.

Jury will be out oh Wilf now. All very well saying sell him. Many of us have paid good money to watch him. He is one of our most exciting players ever. Don’t let something like this lose him. The guy is a special very rare talent. His skills make a massive difference to fans customer experience at games. Whenever Wilf gets theball at his feet it is like getting a fix of adrenalin. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This. 1000%. Best post I have read on HOL in a very long time. All the holier than thou criticism/"sell him now" comments are rather sad. They overlook that Wilf is probably by some distance the finest player ever to pull on a Palace shirt in the last 50 years; has been the architect of some of our finest achievements; and is being kicked from pillar to post. Try doing your job with someone physically assaulting you every 5 minutes! Comparisons with Hazard are in my view misleading - Hazard is much more protected by refs; goes to ground pretty often without any contact; and tends to go missing in games when the opposition gets physical (Wilf does not). Enjoy every single game that we have left with this genius in a Palace shirt, I say. Let's take yesterday's point, and move on. COYP.
Jackson.. Wan Bissaka.... Sansom.. Nicholas.. Cannon.. Guehi.... Zaha... Thomas.. Byrne... Holton.. Rogers.. that should do it.. |

Already been susopended this season for picking up 5 bookings for retaliating when he was angry about not getting a decision. As was said above, he is in his mid-20s with over 300 games (I think) to his credit - he's not a little kid. Needs to grow up.

Every time he gets fouled - or believes he gets fouled - he moans. Sometimes that right, but the issue with Wilf is that he won't accept the decision (free kick or not) and move on. Too many times Luka (or others) have had to pull him away and last night was just waiting to happen. It's been coming and I'm surprised it's taken 24 games for a ref to do this. Don't get me wrong, I love Wilf - and love watching him drive defenders insane - but he does need to show some maturity in these instances.

After getting booked you have to button it and walk away. Then run rings round the t**t.
