His case does not have any reporting restrictions. The case he "reported" on did. Thus he was guilty whilst others are free to report on him. Is it really that difficult to understand? All the information he reported on was already in the public domain!! think BBC reported on it names, photos etc..Do you not see the stitch up? Or are you that naive ?

No one knew that at the time....newspaper reported on the case as well. This case did not require nor do any deserve any reporting restrictions. This is to keep the whole disgusting saga low key. This is political and state persecution and you are an apologist for the state who isn't worth time on these boards. Edited by Stirlingsays (12 Jul 2019 7.01pm) Do you know when the reporting restrictions were imposed and why? I don't and I suspect only the Judge knows all the circumstances. If any newspaper did report on the case, whilst the restrictions were in place, and have not yet been prosecuted, then there is your perfect opportunity to expose hypocrisy. Present the evidence to "Robinson's legal team and they would have a field day. You cannot possibly know whether this case deserved reporting restrictions. You are not in possession of all the relevant facts. Only the Judge making the order is. Asserting motives without knowledge, as you so often do, is what is disgusting. It has been acknowledged, I guess because the Jury were already considering their verdict, that his actions could not have affected that particular trial but that is simply not the point. It might have affected other linked trials but, even if not, it still doesn't matter what the reasons were. The restrictions existed. They apply to everyone. Ignorance is no defence. He could have apologised and pleaded mitigating circumstances because of misinformation, in which case he might have got away with a warning. He had prior, which was always going count against him. He was even late for Court because he was addressing his supporters outside and was admonished after his barrister apologised. He didn't apologise. He made political statements from the dock. His behaviour did him no favours at all. Your repeated assertions that this was a "political and state persecution" is a baseless piece of propaganda. This isn't a police state. We just don't behave like that and only the truly myopic see persecution where none exists. I would welcome an answer these questions from you:- 1 Do you believe those who break the law should face the law? We can all disagree with various aspects of the law and with the decisions of Judges. What we cannot do is interfere with them.

how do you guys manage to type with your knuckles dragging on the floor? f*** sake this whole thread is an utter embarrassment to palace fans. shame on you. Well said. The attitude on display here towards a trouble making, attention seeking rabble rouser with a pronounced dubious history is shameful. The way that two quite separate issues get conflated shows a total lack of understanding of our legal system. To go further and assert that this is state driven persecution is both risible and ridiculous.

You might have to wonder if the media coverage prejudiced Robinson's case? Then again, I guess you wouldn't. As was pointed out to me this wasn't a jury trial, possibly for this very reason, but that's just a guess. It was decided by a Judge who would not be affected by anything other than the evidence.

Bottom line then. I am not the Judge in possession of the facts presented by the prosecuting counsel or the defence by the defending counsel. Asserting that what he did earlier exposed the crimes, is very much an assumption which I, and many others don't share. If he took any evidence he had to the Police, rather than YouTube I might agree. He didn't. What he did was to promote a much wider criticism of Islam and not out of any genuine interest in the victims.

Maybe he was aware that the police and crown prosecution services had already been told (from the highest level) not to pursue the complaints from the girls and their families as they (the girls) had made their own sexual choices......would have made his compaints a bit of a waste of time.

Also, you can take that shame you think we should have for opinions you don't like and shove it somewhere intimate.
