Once again you are spouting desperate misrepresentation. The truth is all I seek. In case you missed it, I am not apologising for anyone or anything. I am offering rational explanations as to why these actions might have been taken. I condemn criminals and violence. I don't condemn the innocent bystanders. People are always innocent until proven guilty in my world. Maybe not though in yours? Just as they aren't in Trump's. That IS the truth. Though I doubt whether you will even begin to understand it, let alone accept it. Has Trump been found guilty of anything? I don’t mean in your eyes I mean in a court of law? If not, then by your rationale he is innocent!

Show me something that has been verified as factually true which confirms your "awareness" and then maybe you might have a point. When others get information from sources they believe are reliable, but you disagree with them, you claim they are conspiracy theories or fake news or even bs Ever considered your sources may not be as reliable as you believe? You stated that BLM didn't exist in this country before last year. The fact that you didn't "notice" or had forgotten the BLM protests in 2016 (which you seem to think was just a "weird political protest" back then) and that it didn't become "popular" until 2020 to you isn't a "big deal". I agree actually. It wasn't a big deal to you until it became popular it seems. Why is that? The cause as stated in that article from the BBC (a trusted source?) was very much anti-racism yet you and others who were not directly caught up in the "weird political protests" chose to ignore or forget it. And why you brought UKIP into it can only be pondered upon. And if you think that I am guilty of "This attempt to tarnish the efforts of the players, and many others, by seeking to associate them with political activism is doing many people who only wish to demonstrate that they care a great disservice" then you are, not for the first time, wrong. I'm just pointing out that the fact that you either didn't notice or had forgotten the BLM protests of 2016 doesn't mean that they didn't have resonance then or that it didn't exist before the death of George Floyd in this country. There's nothing wrong with admitting one's wrong occasionally. In fact, it's a strong trait. I have no problem at all in admitting I am wrong. The whole point here though is that many people are continuing to conflate the political movement which is known as BLM and grew out of the original protests in 2013 with what started last year. Black Lives Matter is a very disparate and broad protest movement which means different things to different people. It has no central organisation. To associate the political organisation with what has subsequently happened is just wrong. That they both use the same name is unfortunate. It is as silly as suggesting anyone with the surname Trump is a self-obsessive. Judd would be a little upset! If you believe all these things are to be regarded as just parts of a whole then I am wrong. I don't believe that, so don't myself believe I am.

Edited by Spiderman (04 Jan 2021 8.32pm) My reference was to the benefit of sources subjected to editing and legal oversight. Who-ever uses them, rather than just internet sources, are likely to possess a greater degree of truth. That's not to say that anyone, me included, will agree with the opinions of others. There is though a world of difference between a lie and an opinion.
