Off the top of my head would go for Dougie Freedmans goal against Sunderland the year we went up. Absolute beauty!

far too many to mention, but I'll mention a few anyway just off the top of my head.....

1)Billy Gilbert-long range effort V the spammers,75 yards out,but thats only because It gains 5 yards every time I tell it.

2)Ian Wright-lob on the turn from just inside the half way line against wimbledon at plough lane.

3)Geoff Thomas-free kick against saints at the whitehorse end

4)stan staunton-a curling lob from out on the touchline v tranmere

5)Carl Fletcher-this is out of respect for a player who I think we should have kept and It sticks in my mind, his net buster v hull a couple of seasons back.

6)Ian Wright-we beat plymouth 5-1 and I seem to remember him turning 4 or 5 players inside out before slotting the ball home up the whitehorse end.

that'll do for now.

Your number 2 would be very high on my list, probably second behind a Johnny Byrne goal which very few on here will remember.

However it was not a lob and it was not just inside the half way line. The whole point of the greatness of the goal was that it was a long way out and a supremely powerful volley which Wright executed after leaving the grovelling Keith Curle standing.

lo Selhurst silva felix, lo Selhurst cara nutrix, viget, vigeat, vigebit! Best team:- Jackson; Gilbert, Evans, Cannon, Sansom; Hughes, Kember, McNichol; Byrne, Holton, Wright.

Has to be Hopkins in the play-offs for me.

And I can remember Mark Bright scoring a cracker against Millwall in the early 90's to win us the game 4-3.

Seen quite a few since 1957, but to be honest honest I just love them all.

Is this a five minute argument, or the full half hour? [Link]
