I think Stevie Kember was Palace's best player ever. Not only a truly gifted and talented exponent of the game, but a "Team" player and assisted the younger ones along the way. Was most responsible for getting Palace up to Division One with a 4-0 was it? over Derby. Other memorable players I recall Tom White, John Jackson. Mind you I haven't been back from Aussie since 1970, but still an avid fan! Bob.Lake Macquarie. N.S.W.

Used to be Andy Preece as he was the scored the winner at my first Palace match. Of the current crop it's gotta be Aki Riihilahti, AJ, and Danny Butterfield - true club men

AJ - 18 goals as a striker not a winger

Got to be Wrighty all day long but what about Billy Gilbert???? From a tender age of 12 I watched him clatter centre forwards, outjump the biggest hardest strikers around, gain revenge for the rest of the lads on whoever had stamped on any of our players and even notch the odd belter..West Ham(H)78/79 Bolton (H)79/80 Leicester(H)83/84 are a few of his eh few goals! Best memory...Mabbutt got sent off for 2nd bookable v Boro Billy disagreed so hard he had a strong word with the ref and beat Mabbutt to the tunnel!! Down to 9 men we still won 1-0 thanks to a pen won by Hilaire and converted by Nicho(I think!)Great days!! Could be a new thread here....funniest on the pich moment...one more springs to mind....Vince sent off in our 1980 clash v Spurs (3-4)at home for pushing ref Alf Grey..he said he thought he was Garth Crooks! Class!

We love you,we love you,we love you and where you play we follow,we follow,we follow, cos we support the Palace, the Palace, the Palace and thats the way we like it,we like,we like it...WOAH,WOAH,WOAH!!!

A winner is a dreamer who never gives up...
