Quote tome at 07 Jan 2005 5:38pm
Aye, Seth, but if someone's religious does it not affect their decision making process on every level? Regardless as to whether they keep it to themselves or not, the fact of their religious sentiments may well mean that there is always another agenda.

I'd agree with that tome.
As a Christian, I'd hope that my faith effects my decisions on a day to day basis, sometimes consciously but more often that not just because of the framework of morals and attitudes that my faith gives me.

I'm sure this has been touched on earlier but didn't see a definitive reply . Sorry if i missed it.
As there are so many gods and each god is the only true god , all religious people worship different ones , by the law of averages most people have been wasting their time.

Do people who totally believe in their god admit the presence of others and yet still believe that their god is superior? The Bible's view that Jesus died for the sins of others , does this include believers that denounce him in favour of other gods.

Watch Derren Brown tonight at 10.35 on C4.

Apparently he'll be showing how easy it is to be a messiah (or a very naughty boy)

Sorry rach but everything you believe in about this subject i believe completely the opposite. The bang happened because of chemical reactions and stuff like that. It maybe hard to accept but the particles and stuff has always been there. Its not a concept of which most people can grasp but its true.

There is no god, there never has been but i really would love to believe it. After watching the passion of the christ (and believe me i learnt a lot from that film, i dont know anything about the bible) it seems like a wonderful thing to have a messiah that it all knowing and all loving and such but there wasnt.

Im really fascinated by the whole 'magic' stuff that goes on with ancient incantations and stigmata and the all powerful stuff and it would be really scary if it were true but it aint. Sorry. And neither are ghosts. Their not real either. Most Haunted is put on. I know this for a fact.

I don't want to get drawn into an argument but i have to disagree. how did chemicals and particles get there in the first place? something has to create things, they just don't appear.
but youre right about Most Haunted. its very funny though.

They were just there. I told you it would take time to understand it. If you just accept the fact that they were there then youll understand.

that answer doesn't explain anything. "they were just there" doesn't explain how they got there.

It would seem that everyone has their own beliefs, none of which can be categorically proven - and we're not alone!

120 (mainly American) scientists gave their responses to this question:
"WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE IS TRUE EVEN THOUGH YOU CANNOT PROVE IT?"
It's a good read.
