I said it once and I will say it twice. Roy will not be sacked. I believe he has to go and a fresh new team come in. Whether he is sacked or leaves ‘by mutual consent’ I don’t see him being with us much longer. (I was hoping he would’ve been dispensed with after the Arsenal game).

Or does it reflect that fact that Roy is being fed the same false hope the fans are? It's a bit like me telling my wife I hope to become a millionaire underwear model by the end of this year then just sitting around in my pants moaning about Palace. There's little point talking of such aspirations when there's no action to deliver upon them. Your use of analogy to describe a certain situation have hit new heights of the surreal, excellent ha ha ha!

I also agree that it is an excellent post. However, I Just can’t see anyone being able to make our present 11 / squad any better than Hodgson? If we can’t bring any additional players in only Hodgson in my opinion is able to keep us up. But staying up is not a definite even if Hodgson stays? Ayew and Olise coming back soon will hopefully be the reason we stay up? Then, a new manager/team will have a bloody hard job ahead as we will go down next season without major incoming quality players and a change in playing style? Too true, coupled with the likelihood that Leicester and Soton will automatically be promoted and be far stronger than the teams promoted this season, then next season is looking even tougher. Roy might of only of got the extension of this season as the preferred candidates were not available. Now if the management do have somebody available now then this is the time to make this choice. If not then he will remain in charge until the end of the season. As the days pass it is highly likely this is the scenario. Also what happens on the pitch next week might force their hand. Only time will tell.

I agree it is time for him to move on but when you think of it logically it won’t happen till the end of season for many reasons. The big one being there are 3 worse teams than us in this division and Parish and Co. wont believe there is a major risk of getting relegated (neither do I) We are so weak in so many areas of the pitch that it is almost laughable and it would be a bigger risk to get rid of Roy now and expect a new manager to mould that team before the end of the season. This is an unbelievably depressing season especially that it started with so much hope.

I've copied and pasted this from the BBC. A summary I very much align with: Alex Pewter, FYP podcast Whether we claim to be objective or not, we are all guilty of our sporting biases. They can cloud our judgement or at least extend our tolerances. In the case of Crystal Palace, many of us are, at best, struggling to stomach this particular season. A pair of FA Cup fixtures that amounted to an abject waste of time from a Palace perspective only added further fan anger or apathy directed at this football club - with the drubbing delivered by Arsenal on Saturday and a fan protest the accompanying cherries on top. That brings further questions about Roy Hodgson's position at the club. Many hold respect and fondness for him yet find their patience thin and tested. Would we accept such negativity and surrounding toxicity if it was a different manager in his place? The chairman and club carry their fair share of the blame, as we have touched on across previous weeks, adding a layer of confusion to the debate. However, a leopard never changes its spots, so they knew the coach they re-hired and the squad they were equipping him with. The end of last season acted as a small redemption arc for Hodgson. However, the past months, regardless of caveats and context, have dredged up memories of dire pandemic football with a football club seemingly on its knees. The fans may have returned to the stands but will now voice the frustration absent from those once-empty stadia. Like an unwanted Hollywood franchise sequel, this season has done more harm than good for Hodgson's legacy at the club rather than repeat the success. For those who hold lingering hope for a satisfying final chapter with a historically important coach who can leave on his terms, the path to that outcome is quickly narrowing.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |
