Doucoure seems to have been missed today, and our defence looked vulnerable when Everton had the ball.

Conceding a goal that early is unforgivable and conceding a goal that late is rubbish too. This is a point dropped.

We now need a big win at Luton, who are not that bad of late.

I don't think Parish will spend money in January because he probably thinks that we will be OK.
It's clear that we need another striker, two backs and another winger. I'm not sure that we will be too far away from the bottom if we keep leaking goals like we did today.

Edouard is like Benteke, in that he is abject sh-t, but will be playing for us for the next 5 years. I can't imagine a future where OE will not be our starting striker every match.

Well first off it wasn't a bad game of football .We poked and probed as the home side ,Everton played the away game we are all too familiar with .

The goals conceded were poor ,no excuses there but Everton would probably say the same about our second . How Eze didn't get a second penalty is beyond me , the VAR which I hate can take three minutes looking at every goal from every angle before its confirmed but seemingly can't see a clear foul . That would/could have put our noses in front and we are then looking at a different game .

Wasn't our day as is often the case against these but it could be so much much better with the addition of a couple of players and a fit Doucoure .

Edouard is our top scorer in a low scoring side, instructed to play negative defensive football. Excepting Olise, we have no real width, the full backs don't get up in support that often.
Edouard has 6 thus far, a few by anticipating the ball being put into the box from (surprise) wide areas.
Don't have a go at Edouard or Ayew for not scoring enough, the way the team is instructed to play by Hodgson means they are feeding on scraps.
A big test at Luton coming up, then on to West Ham and Bournemouth, before a difficult set of fixtures into the new year. Hodgson gone by then? It's a possibility - games thus far: Won 4 Drawn 3 Lost 5.
Not top ten material, and after the December fixtures probably we'll sit around 14th or below.

I think we can have a go at Edouard as he had plenty of chances yesterday and does every week to hold the ball up and pass it to another one of his team. He fails constantly but we have no replacement for him in Hodgson’s eyes? If you look at the first goal yesterday you will see he failed to control a ball to him which then came back into our box. There was then mistakes by our defence but it was his initial misscontrol which started our downfall. He also doesn’t have any pace as showed when Eza put him through a few times. Not just knocking him as other individuals yesterday made mistakes including fan’s favourite Olise when he came on, especially with that last free kick which ballooned over. It wasn’t a typical tight Hodgson performance and that may be because our midfield was weak yesterday without Dacoure? His replacement Hughes wasn’t good enough and Lerma didn’t have a good game either. It was a typical Dyche team performance and we made more mistakes than them. Their defence throughout the team was better than ours with fewer errors. We need a forward badly to do all the things Edouard can’t including the one thing he can and that’s also being able to score. Certainly not knocking the 6 goals he has scored already but his overall play isn’t good enough at this level in my opinion?

And what was the issue with HF today....didn't get what was with the banner complaining about Croydon Council.....did the Council confiscate their drum 1st half?

Apparently they banned them from using flags etc. Police were deployed to stop them having access to the store room. It seems a long running battle with the Council who seem to want them stoped. I would have thought what goes on in the ground is up to the club and Police.

Edouard isn't a hold up man, let's be frank. He's like that goal hanging kid in the playground and other parts of the game are not his forte. Surely Hodgson sees this and should adapt the tactics accordingly? And yet he's our top scorer at the same time?

I’ve always been a fan of Ayew but not sure leading the line is his strength? Vertically challenged, so not going to be a target man. Nevertheless worth a try, and would Schlup, given his physical presence?
Our lack of goals is of course concerning, but equally IMO, are how many goals we concede from crosses and dead-ball situations, when we are blessed with two decent central defenders. Our defence get caught flat-footed too many times and doesn’t attack the ball enough.
On the pen question, Howard Webb and his tribe should be hung out to dry with such decisions. All the pundits agreed it was a foul. VAR in general needs a complete review... especially handball. What happened to the basic hand to ball rule not has it deflected off a bootlace to an elbow!
Defeat v Toffees sucks! “Tomorrow will be a better day”

In the cold light of day the players and management should be ashamed. Losing at home to a team below us like Everton and conceding goals the way we did is unacceptable.
No one player is excluded from this.

i dont really understand the hand wringing and negative comments , i thought we played well , much better than the previous 3 home games, yesterday we were out Hodgsoned by Everton I agree about Dacoure if he is fit enough for the bench he is fit enough to start. Also thought Eze ripped them another one but one negative for him is he needs to shoot more, there are times he chooses to pass instead of pulling the trigger as in first half when he tried to square the ball to Eduard . I thought Lerma was OK but he needs to score more, i believe he got half a dozen last year, but missed a good one in the second half. Hughes just isnt premiership quality so the loss of Dacoure was huge, All in all we continue to play like that we will win more than we lose

This was a loss at home to a team that was below us in the table and it is simply not acceptable if we want to continue to progress in this league. It does not matter how well we may have played we lost the game and that highlights our weakness in defending high balls in to the box and our weaknesses in attack.
