This maybe true to a degree, but drug dens and knife obsessions were happening in the'60s for sure. I'm not going to labour the point today. Let's celebrate the good people formerly of the Caribbean. The dodgy ones? Not so much. There are good people from every group.....unless you're creating a specifically bad one like violent criminals. But we all know any collection of people contains gems...I'm a big fan of Cavin Robinson for example...David Kurten is another individual any country would be proud of. However, in the main, people should be leading and building their own nations. But do I like them, yeah I think they are great. The overall impact was exactly what you'd expect it to be....essentially a country is its people and now parts of Britain resemble foreign countries. Which is a betrayal of its people. Culture is downstream from law. Woke doesn't die until the law and the incentives for it change.

'King Charles honours ‘immeasurable’ impact of Windrush generation'. 'A profound and permanent contribution' They have survived, and thrived, in an often hostile environment. It makes you proud to be British.

Edited by Stirlingsays (22 Jun 2023 1.05pm) Unless you have lived enough years, it is hard to see how much this country has declined and how little of 'Britishness' is left. By the time my grandchildren grow up, the place will be unrecognizable, and they will look back and wonder why we threw it all away.

We didn't, others did.....because it was in their interests to do so.

There are certainly some aspects of Caribbean culture that we could have done without, who is more tolerant of LGBTQ ? The culture you mention above , or Islam ? And what about the tolerance of Gays back in the home countries to the Middle East and the Caribbean ? Can we organise a 'Drunken Pride' parade for Riyadh ? or a 'Gammon Pride' day for Kingston, Jamaica ? Maybe Sadiq Khan could open a few Christian Churches in Jeddah, Saudi ? and do a simultaneous launch of a local dating website for UK English-teachers/Oil engineers to date local girls ? Woke : does tolerance travel in both directions ? or is it a one-way street ? Edited by PalazioVecchio (22 Jun 2023 3.38pm)

Strangely, there was little evidence of any of those with the Windrush generation (apart from a bit of reggae played in their own homes), or with the generation after - it's not until you get to the 3rd and 4th ones that this stuff starts. It's almost like poverty and inequality are the main drivers of criminality, rather than some vague notion of culture... who knew?

I have already stated how history will slowly be rewritten. Eventually, the British, all they achieved, their culture and origins will become a footnote in an Asian's history book.
