Well somebody identified Mateta and Edouard as strikers. It would be ok if just one of them could find the net occasionally. Alas no they are both proving to be not up to the task.
Surely DF must be held responsible for this fail.

Edouard had a good goalscoring record for Celtic scoring 66 goals in 116 league games.
He came with a reputation as a good dribbler and finisher and a player who could score with either foot.

You would think so, sadly we seems to often be stitched up with transfers of lame or useless players!

I recall Eze being showered with praise, and the likes of Andersen and Guehi have also received plaudits as has Olise.
There were positive comments about Richards when he played in the team.

Brighton have been lauded for their transfers, but the likes of Locadia, Jahanbaksh and Izquierdo who cost around £45 Mill were not particularly successful.

All teams have 'Hits' and 'Misses' in the Transfer Market.

We just have more than others, and to be honest both Eze and Olise are still work in progress before anyone can claim that they are established EPL players and as for Riichards, he seems to be sick or lame most of the time!

Hi Willo,

You have been unusually supportive of Messrs.Parish and Freedman recently,to the extent that I am beginning to wonder if some complimentary tickets are coming your way!!

His brief as DOF may well be wider than scouting, but nonetheless it is beyond dispute that Freedman has overall control of scouting at the club.
It is clear from Hodgson’s and Vieira’s comments in recent seasons when asked about team strengthening that both Freedman and Parish are the key figures in the decisions on who comes in and goes out.
If they are fairly praised for getting it right with the likes of Guehi and Anderson, it’s surely equally fair to be able to question their decisions on the squad weaknesses which are have been all too evident to the fanbase this season.
To merely say that Freedman has a wider remit or that Parish has been at the helm for 10 years does not give them a free pass to my mind and could be seen as yet more excuses.
On the subject of finance it would clearly be unreasonable to expect us to compete financially with the top clubs ,but there is still value to be had as clubs smaller than us have demonstrated in their acquisition policies.

For what it’s worth I think Parish and Freedman are both doing good jobs, but there is clearly room for improvement and a more professional approach.
Currently we’re in a relegation struggle, have temporarily gone back to a manager who was deemed not the right choice when we did not extend his contract two seasons ago, and have another half dozen senior players out of contract in the summer including our star player.

As I say, clearly room for improvement.

Boom. Nail on head, a straight appraisal of the current state of play.
