.

we did defend against the Liverpool that dissected ManUre 7-0.

our attacking players have pace & guile.

This is not a bunch of donkeys destined for the drop.

the right manager can get us to the survival finish-line. The weakest link for us is midfield.....fix that and we will do well.

Bringing Derry back in the short term surely cannot be a starter. He was removed obviously because of disagreement with players and manager. Bringing him back would clearly not bring harmony to the group which will be desperately needed for us to survive.

All that has come out is that Vieira demoted Derry due to him having a go at the players, one example of which being when we lost 3-0 at Everton with the lowest work rate of the season, during Derry questioned their passion and pride in playing for the club. The following week, we won. There's been no suggestion that the players had an issue with Derry.

What on earth is to dislike about that at present?

Does he not need to be made permanent manager though? I can't see Parish giving him the job permanently straight off the bat, which would make 4-1 not great odds.

I made a killing backing Pulis years ago when he initially turned down the job but I had a feeling he'd change his mind and lumped on at 25-1. I have no idea this time around, but I suppose Paddy makes some kind of sense, albeit I don't really see how he is an upgrade? I suppose at least Parish and Freedman know what he's about. I prefer Paddy to Derry.

Depends on, whether the piano in Selhurst station is still there (Ralph is a passionate piano player). BTW, is it really still there?

I really do hope Parish has sounded out an experienced manager along with the associated back up team before he woke up this morning .

The Sky bloke outside the training ground was quite scathing about Parish. He said that the supporters hoped that Parish had someone up his sleeve before getting rid of Vieira but reminded us that having had lengthy notice that Hodgson would be leaving at the end of the season he didn't have a scooby who to appoint when it came to the crunch

In reply to Hannes/Vienna. I can confirm that the piano is still in the underpass at Selhurst Station.

Everyone's assuming the next manager will be male (sorry, of course I mean 'identify as male'). Palace has always been a club that thinks outside the box (there's precious little evidence that we've been anywhere near the box recently) so what about going for the woman who manages the Lionesses? It'll happen one day...

Yeah that would be interesting. The players could shaft her just like they have PV

Ah, ok. I know nothing about how betting works. I used to always bet on Murray for the first goal and that paid out quite often. After that I lost interest. McCarthy certainly seems a gamble at this stage, but he has good hair and it seems appropriate to appoint a Paddy on Paddy's day after sacking a Patrick.

He’s now 7/4 favourite and yes would be fitting on st paddy’s day lol

I doubt Kompany will be coming anytime soon judging by his critical comments during today’s press conference in relation to the sacking (not that I thought he would be new manager anyway).
