Mateta Sclhupp Olise should all come off. I’ll take the worst second half in history and 0-0 FT now. A goal would be nothing short of a miracle Occasionally the miracle does happen. That was the best we could hope for today so I’m feeling smug. I’ve never said it, but I was as close to PV out as I’ve ever been. Dreadful, lazy and clueless performance. If he picks another starting XI like that I’ll be convinced he really doesn’t have a clue.
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

'Respect the point'. A really jammy one, credit for digging deep and holding out. Brighton best outfit I have seen in the PL.

Usually one would say 'Respect the point'. Today, though, I'm just thankful (to their keeper and profligacy) that we got one What a steal! And if it wasn't against Brighton, I'd be embarrassed at such daylight robbery.

I thought BHA were classy and played with a lot of confidence and imagination, but I wouldn't fault our players - nor PV. We've never really had a settled side this season, but today, as against Man U and Newcastle, we hung in for a point. To be honest, I thought the best we played this season was in the first half home to Spurs - a match we lost 4-0. Sooner or later (hopefully the former) things will click.

Let's face it, Vieira only got the job because others turned it down (or we would not pay for the entire backroom staff). And it really goes to show how instrumental Gallagher was last season. Unless there is a drastic up turn in performances, he will be gone at the end of the season ( can't think textor is too pleased with his investment right now). he will only have 1 year left on his contract, so not much of a pay off.

The team looks disjointed generally and especially lacking in cohesive forward play. That of course reflects poorly on the manager and coaches, but in fairness they can't polish a turd. Our forwards aren't good enough in any aspect of the game, but they are especially bad at the things that give a team attacking fluidity: movement, one and two touch play, rotation etc. People will say that the club should have invested more in better forwards but there is only so much money in the pot to begin with, and certainly a limit on spending due to FFP. Everyone wants a forward, and I'm not sure very many teams in our part of the table have a much better record than us when it comes to finding one. Us getting stuck with Ayew, Mateta and Edouard is a problem, but not necessarily one resulting from negligence. We have to see the season through and see what we can do in the summer. Rak-Sahki scored again today, perhaps he'll make the break through next season with us, but we need better luck with strikers than we've had over the last decade if we are to move positively into the future without Zaha. I liked Mateta's effort today, but he is absolutely f*cking useless. His lack of ball control in the opposition half led to at least two Brighton chances. He also can't head the ball despite being 12 feet tall with shoulders the width of a bus. Edouard looked knackered after 30 seconds and wasted one of our very few good attacking opportunities with a lazy pass. He's starting to make Bentenke look energetic by comparison. Maybe we should have kept Gordon around, who has at least scored a couple of goals (albeit at league 2 level).
