Well Ive had a drink and a kip and awoken with the hump . Shaking off the dissapiontment is an art I have mastered over the last half a century though so all will be good by the time the fish supper has digested

Im not as worried as some , though I do expect some reinforcments long before the end of the month in which we have games we won't pick much if anything up from .
The good news is there are some terrible sides about this season and even at our lacklustre worst should still have enough to keep away from the relegation scrap come the end of the season . Wehave had a dip in form nothing more

Dont panic , COYP

Absolutely disgraceful losing at home to bottom of the table Southampton.
I have been at my splenetic worst.

4 defeats in our last 5 games,3 consecutive home defeats,we are going downhill faster than Franz Klammer.

Thanks for mentioning one of our beloved compatriots and the comparison with him, but unlike Palace, it was always his main job to go down as fast as possible.

We lost because of two goalkeeping errors, but the concerning thing is we just do not look like scoring enough at the moment. Saints were terrible, I mean awful. The only thing they did well was tactical fouls. If they continue to play like that they won't continue to be gifted wins and they're down, so that is at least one positive. From a Palace perspective we need a shake up. Hughes has to start the next game as he was one of the few bright spots. Olise also stood out. Mitchell coming back should make a difference as both Ward and Clyne have struggled filling in. We really need a first-team signing to give us a lift though.

Ifno-one else is going to step up then we also really need Wilf to find his shooting boots again, as today he constantly beat his man but his end product was not there, had it been we probably would have won this one comfortably. There is no question about his commitment though.

All very correct.
Southampton were all over the shop for long periods and we created lots of scoring opportunities which is the most important part ..the same would be said for the Spurs game. Defensively though we are extremely weak and naive and this was nicely highlighted away at Burnley last season in the 3-3 draw. Nobody seems to be interested in sorting this issue out which is very worrying considering the effect it's obviously having at the other end of the pitch.

Dear oh dear. You are all missing the crucial point: this loss was a cunning masterstroke by ace tactician Vieira; exit the cup swiftly and concentrate on the league. Expect thumping victories in the next few games.

I mean this as a sincere enquiry Elpis but if you do then why? Is there any hint or evidence to support this belief?

I think, at best, we will get one loan signing as previously stated and I don't think that will be on a Gallagher level or even close. I'm imagining more along the Remy/Adebayor lines.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

The result is on ultimately on Guaita but Southampton were awful and the inability of the whole team to pick a forward pass (of which Doucoure and Hughes were two of the worst culprits) and create decent chances once Saints got back into the game was cause for further alarm

Zaha was the only one at it. Olise and Eze continue to flatter to deceive and the latter can only really play in Zaha's position IMO.

There was a swirling wind in the ground that would have been a factor in the first goal although I thought our defensive line was too deep.

Hughes was no more than OK IMO.

Indeed , they even today showed little that would suggest they would gain 4 more wins than us during the rest of the season . They have only won 3 so far

More in a hope that that those running the club can see the bleeding obvious to be fair

With Jmac now looking like a has been ,others not being as good as they were and others not what we are looking for a decent centre mid is the minimum for this window

Judging by the recent performances it would be a huge boost around the club to get some new recruits this month, some sort of permanent move would be nice as well, although this would go against the Chairmen's recent talk. However I live in hope than expectation.

I was actually thinking that.. though less to do with it being intentional of course. Or of thumping victories coming our way.
