At the min, Wilf is still our top player. And on current form, one of the best in the league. We are lucky to have him, as we'd never be able to afford him if he wasn't ours.

I believe we did have deadlines in previous windows. This, though, is our last opportunity to get a reasonable fee for Wilf and I can well understand the club's reluctance to do what you suggest in this particular window. It is my belief that Wilf's main desire is to play at the top table with a club that's in Europe and has a genuine chance of winning trophies. He's already got oodles of money. What he doesn't have is time. I think he will leave as soon as he can if the right opportunity arises and we'll let him go if the price is right. Is that what I want? No. I'd love a happy Zaha staying with us for the rest of his career, but I simply don't see that happening, however much money he's offered to extend his contract.

He dumbs everything down to polarised black or white categories. He's a nobody who just suggested Steve Parish was incompetent. He's the biggest 'look at me' on here since Willo. I think it's safe to suggest he has over simplified the situation, in a trademark obnoxious manner.

Agreed, the time is approaching as his contract expires next July, but we need him as our talisman and as his absence on Saturday proves we are not the same team without him. All the alternatives to replace him (Sarr, Hudson-Odi, Gallagher, etc) don't seem adequate to me. I partially agree with you. If we allow Zaha to leave the offer has to be our liking or he will stay and we go through this again in January. If we look at the suitors what do they have that would satisfy us? If its a cash transaction we will need to buy a replacement and Sarr is only player mentioned who would be similar and Watford don't need to sell and we will not offer enough to tempt them. We have loaned out our own like for like replacement so unless they fancy an U21 player on loan or part exchange is a non starter.
So we are looking at another player who we want If it is Chelsea Gallagher obviously comes to mind as a permanent possibly with an agreement to loan Broja for rest of season. If it is Arsenal most of the players we would have considered are not surplus to requirements I can see them offering Maitland -Niles but would we consider Eddie Nketiah and/or Reiss Nelson plus some money? I think Wilf will be with us at end of Window unless Chelsea make us a deal involving the permanent transfer of Gallagher and Loan of Broja with right/obligation to buy

I trust Steve Parish to do the right thing by all concerned. First and foremost is the club. I think SP will sanction Wilf's move if we get a sufficiently attractive offer AND have a replacement player lined up. I know that SP also wants to be in a position where he won't be standing in the way if Wilf get the opportunity he's been wanting these last few years. From a footballing perspective, I don't see that Wilf fits into a Tuchel team. Chelsea strike me as efficient rather than exciting. And it would be a shame to lose him from our current set up in which he has players around him such as Eze and Olise that he could work with to progress our club. I've got to be honest, Chelsea or West Ham would be the last London clubs I want him to play for.

Heres the problem with Zaha leaving this window, with the 20% sell on clause to utd the money on offer would have to be ludicrous for a player in the last yr of his contract to make it worth out while. Also his Agent would never work again if he wasnt reminding wilf every day that he be owed a loyalty bonus to see out his contract with palace AND that he could command so much more in wages and signing on bonuses as a free agent next summer.

I never understand fans saying we shouldn't stand in his way to play in the Champions league with a bigger club, he tried that and failed, we took him back and enabled him to rebuild his reputation. Why would you want to sell your best player to a richer rival, it doesn't make sense.
