A couple of weeks ago I was thinking Mordaunt would be a refreshing change, but the more I learn about her views on gender issues the more I have changed my mind.

Tugendhat seems a genuine bloke with an air of authority who would stand up well to Starmer yet he doesn't appear to have a great deal of support and I'm not sure why. He is less slimy than Sunak and displays more originality than Truss.

Badenoch did well the other night and gives measured responses to questions rather than shooting from the hip. I actually quite like her style but she doesn't have the experience to lead the country. I hope she gets a decent job in the new cabinet though.

All in all, None of the runners fill me with confidence, but it looks like it will take a major shift to knock out Sunak.

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

i have trust in none of them. They are all products of a privileged upbringing who've never worked in their lives, and don't intend to start now.

They had no moral compass under Johnson and I have no reason to favour one fat pig over another.

They will have had several Executive Director positions in various companies. Not sure how hard the job is, but the pay is generally good. There will be several double jobbing at this right now - some have several positions.

So a plumber or milkman would have experience of a high pressure role. These people are bought up in jobs and environments that would normally have a responsibility that most of us would crack under the stress I’m sure. I would imagine even boris and starmer would sit in their space worrying about if their decisions were correct for the better good.

Not true
Penny Mordaunt daughter of ex-paratrooper and special needs teacher mother. She became a career to her brother at 15 when her mother died. Worked in factory and as magicians assistant

Thanks Wiki but did seem a lazy comment

Not forgetting Margaret Thatcher's dad was a shopkeeper and John Major's sold garden gnomes from a trapeze or something.

leader of any political party, it would seem, also have other jobs. How difficult can it be running a country ? Plenty of time (especially if you don't work weekends), it would seem, especially to get drunk whilst making nation-changing decisions for the country.
That is part of the the ethos of a public school education, where being able to do 'difficult things' like running a country whilst holding no worthwhile qualification (or indeed, experience), is deemed beyond the capability of engineers, shopkeepers grafters and the like - even if they have been to a university.

This link illustrates how the aspirational theory can be so utterly crushed , even as a teenager

He could have been an olympic gold medal holder had he chosen to go on the ski holidays and also got his nuts in with the chalet girl- instead he has a certificate and a new biro!

How exactly can you get experience of running a country without actually … running a country?
