Is the game on catch up or uploaded anywhere so I can see what it looked like from the broadcast?

16 fouls today by Chelsea and only one yellow card for diving. Made 24 fouls against us in the home game this season.
Fed up with the big teams allowed to continuously foul and not be punished. It’s hard enough for teams like ours as it is!

Proud of our team and club today!

FFS Chelsea are on a totally different level to us. They have beaten us the last 10 times, we have played them, they just beat Real Madrid away, current Champions league and World Club holders. Without Gallagher, who is key to his normal system wasn't available, PV tried to shuffle his pack, it worked in the first half, Chelsea reorganised at halftime.
Your hero Eze is just so overrated, Olise showed him up in the few minutes he was on the pitch.

Agree with all of this. We contained them fairly well in the first half. If Kouyate's shot had gone in, it was a different game. Small margins. Still, we tried our best against a vastly superior team. That our best player this season is on loan from them speaks volumes.

Still gutted though.

Valid points but I thought we were poor/average today. We have played a lot better than that this season. Over awed by the occasion is probably the reason but I thought second half we gave Chelsea way too much respect.

You have to remember we have taken 4 points off Citeh, 4 and 4 off Arsenal this season. We are better than that performance. Still, it has been a fantastic first year under Viera and you cannot really complain.

What a sad little club.

Their new cocky lot are a joke.

Can't fault the fans (unlike Chelseas!) and it was a good run while it lasted. Well done lads.

Yes, I agree with your summary, take Connor out and we lose our sparkle and threat, Eze, may get better with more exposure but on today's performance he is not a replacement for Gallagher!

Based on today's performance, Eze isn't a replacement for Max Meyer. He was utter sh-t, again. I'm sorry for his injury, but if this is all he has left, get rid of him ASAP.

Sadly PV got the line up all wrong. Butland and Ward felt like token selections. Neither of them did anything wrong but it sent out the wrong message to the team. There’s no room for sentiment in these types of fixtures for us.

Starting Eze was a big gamble given his form since returning from injury. Personally, I would I’ve gone with Ayew with his work rate with Olise to come on later. There was a strange period where JPM came off and we had no striker on the pitch.

Thought PV got the tactics right and it took an individual error for Chelsea to creat their first chance, but after that we were toothless.

Oh well, the Palace fans were great as usual. I know which of the two clubs I’d rather be supporting this morning.

Butland I can understand, he has played in all the Cup games. Ward I am curious about. Clyne, as far as I can tell, now has preference at right back, having superceded Ward for the position.
My question is: was Ward selected due to some tactical reasoning brought on by the different line-up?
Is Clyne carrying a knock?
Was Ward selected as a "thanks for the service" gesture? Sentimentality, as you put it. Surely not?

Wards inclusion was a strange one, particularly as Mitchell was fit to start. Not an effective wing back and stood off Werner twice for the 2nd goal in quick succession. Goalkeeper change would of done nothing as both goals difficult to keep out. Might of been worse as Guaita's forte isn't kicking. None of those worked either and just ceded possession to Chelsea. Tactics were similar to league game and we fell short in similar circumstances to defensive errors. Always difficult to defend without a slip for a whole game against superior opposition. Their last 2 games might of been a factor in the manager's thinking. Saw a very brief glimpse in 2nd half when we attacked them. Could of ended like Brentford or Soton if we had started with that line up. Shame our only chances fell to defensive players. Fans did us proud throughout the game. COYP !!
