What a load of absolute tosh everyone is talking , without the HF we would be considered boring atmosphere same as Brighton, no big displays or constant singing at Wembley etc , and if you people can’t deal with a few cross words on a train football isn’t for you
“This is a crisis, a large crisis.... in fact if you have a moment, it’s a 12 storey crisis, magnificent entrance hall, carpeting throughout, 24 hour portage , and an enormous sign on the roof saying “This , is a large crisis” - Edmund Blackadder |

The section has grown quite large. The group does hold together reasonably well but there will always be eejits and hangers on. Some are young but most not really. There are a few peripheral lads who think they are Jack The Lad but I don’t really come across them much. Those that truly wield influence are genuinely lovely, impressive, thoughtful individuals. They were so inclusive when I charged my way into the group. I have had many brilliant times with them and for example there are a number of young children with us now. I have arranged to get a briefing on what happened with the displays and why the note was published. Given the reaction on here if publishing it was the right thing to do then more explanation was needed. If I manage to get the full story I will probably post about it. It may be worth considering how it would have looked if most of the balloons had not been (illegally?) taken by the Council. 32,000 raining down from the top tier. Would have been awesome and it’s what you can do with an organised group.

Why should I share anything about my or my families private life with the likes of you?

It’s those nasty men in black swearing on the train, Football violence just didn’t exist in the 70’s and 80’s, I’ve not been exposed to this before, they’re very frightening

Making children cry. Making my son cry. They were scum, lads. Believe what you want. What do I care? I've been on trains with plenty of singing and swearing down the years. I've even been in the odd scrap. But these lads were straight down attention seeking inadequate scum. You carry on sticking up for them. All good. Free world. I've seen many posts in the past slagging off the HF after interactions with them. I was skeptical of them. What I saw and heard told me they are probably right. Ultimately what happened on the tube didn't matter. It's my subjective view and maybe I've gone soft (I don't think so). But the club need to know what they're allowing to grow. That's the main thing.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

I had forgotten about this thread, but am procrastinating at work. I was in block 125 at Wembley, around the side, and could see where the HF were - it looked like they had one block to themselves in the middle tier behind the goal. In a stadium of that size, a group the size of the HF are really a drop in the ocean. We couldn't hear them and chants and singing were happening throughout the game, started by people in and around our area. Sometimes we were in unison with the rest of the Palace fans around the ground, sometimes not. I doubt HF and people in other parts of the ground could hear us either. No one around us was aware of fan-made banners. What was obvious was that there was a general sea of red and blue and noise, I don't recall any of the words on any of the in-stadium Palace signage. I guess what I'm getting to is that any HF banner (was there even one?) was either completely insignificant, or would have been anyway. So all that fuss before the game about who's bringing in what, is a bit pathetic really. I'm not anti-HF, but the idea that they think all eyes are going to be on them and their banner on an occasion like Wembley (different at Selhurst), is massively misguided. Neither are they going to be orchestrating the singing and noise, beyond those blocks around them. There's room for everyone to say their piece at Wembley but at the same time don't make it all about 'you'.

I had donated to it, didn't see it.

Granted I'd had 7 pints of Guinness by kick-off (yeah, big man), but there was so much 'noise' going on the stadium, no one around me was paying attention to any one thing, certainly not a banner. There was no single focal point, other than the occasion itself. So what was all the pre-match fuss for? Something that was pretty insignificant in the end.

‘South London Takeover’ I think in that European ultra style font. I just ignore it all now unless we’ve played a good move, scored or are under the cosh defending for our lives on the pitch. Looking menacing, waiting for your escort. Bullying weaker people in numbers.
