The last people who will be considered are the fans of the clubs involved, although I'd happily be proved wrong. I recall in 2016 when we played Watford at Wembley in the semi-final, it was the same day as the London Marathon. We stood on London Bridge underground station watching 7 or 8 trains arrive and depart without us being able to get on, so packed were they.

Thee other semi should be played at the millenium stadium, much better for scousers and mancs to play there instead. Logistically much better choice than Wembley. If so you can play both semi's on the same day.

Two neutral grounds with both matches on the same day. Unfortunately the FA are still desperately trying to claw back the millions it's still out of pocket from the new Wembley which is why they let anyone and everyone play there.
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

If so you can play both semi's on the same day. It would actually make far more sense to play it at Parkhead or Hampden. Direct, non-stop mainline trains from the Northwest to Glasgow are plentiful, regular, high-speed, and simple. Cardiff, on the other hand, is both a longer train journey (in elapsed time) and more complicated (not a direct line). Failing that, there's a blindingly obvious solution no one is mentioning. Swap the two upcoming Liverpool-Man City games with each other. Play the Cup Semi-Final at Wembley a week earlier when there isn't an issue with engineering works, and play the Premier League game at the Etihad on what's now semi-final weekend, when there are engineering works. Problem solved. Sure, the FA Cup Semi Finals would be played on consecutive weekends rather than the same weekend but let's be honest, who cares? The two games are no longer played simultaneously so why does it matter?

That's about 5000 fans getting a free return journey to the semi final on the Saturday.

In that case we will have a reduced train service . Indeed they are upgrading the line at Clapham Jnt over the Easter weekend which means no trains into Victoria There will be extra trains from Marylabone to Wembley stadium though for those who want to use that service
