I'm delighted to read the various posts and to see how our club has responded so well to tomorrow's visit of Hartlepool United to Selhurst. Would love to be there, and I am sure it will be a memorable day for everybody. As long as we win! I especially hope Gemma Lee is given a very warm Selhurst welcome.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

Agree also and I have just donated to the appeal which is now at 63% of the target. I am sure that CPFC will look after Mrs. Lee and her family (plus all the other Hartlepool Directors and guests), I hope they enjoy the hospitality and fantastic Selhurst atmosphere. I will just add a slight word of caution about the away travelling supporters and that is to say they have a bit of a reputation on the road. Their final away game is traditionally attended in fancy dress and back in 2011 they dressed as Oompa Loompa’s when playing on the final day at Charlton. Many of them made a weekend of it. There were numerous issues on the Friday night in central London and Saturday morning/lunchtime, plus a fair amount of trouble at the game and London Bridge train station either side of it. Nearly 5,000 Poolies, a lot of whom will have made a weekend of it and who will have been drinking heavily - this has the potential to spoil somebody’s afternoon so please keep your wits about you people.

Sitting in my sister's place near Milton Keynes so I won't be at the game. We lost my brother in law (47) in 2020 to lung cancer so even though I'm a miserable tight b****** I had to give £20 for Simon. Good luck Gemma. Glad to hear to there is a drug helping

Looking at the Just Giving page it is truly wonderful to see all the many donations from the Palace Community. It would be amazing to get her to the total before Kick Off at 3pm this afternoon. It’s a huge ask but the fund has doubled since yesterday so it’s not out of the question. Once again for anyone who would like to donate here is the [Link] COYP.
