I guess if we were hard to break down, plus scoring plenty of goals, we'd be top of the league. Set pieces, crosses and long balls seem to our issue. At least, it should be something we can work on.

The problem we have is that I don't see how we replace Macca. Drive. The team lacks his drive. Kouyate can tackle but that's it. I will reiterate that Olise has all the the ingredients, in my opinion. Maybe a bit skinny is all.
If you want to live in a world full of kindness, respect and love, try to show these qualities. |

Does anyone know how these grades are determined? Judging from the grades on other players who scored or assisted on goals, Kouyate's assist may have helped his grade considerably.

Kouyate was unnoticeable yet again. Cannot replace a high pressing mcarthur with a mobile kouytate. Gallagher is not the same without Jimmy mac

First time I bring a mate in years and he left selhurst saying how bad we are which wound me up. Need some squad depth and a bit of set piece defending

I believe in admitting when I’m wrong and owning the mistake. Today I need to make an admission about Luka. He’s not good enough for this current palace team. I’ve supported him passionately. You all know that. And I stilll believe he’s got quality. We’ve all seen it. But for whatever reason, it’s a distant memory. I can’t defend him anymore. And apologies for trying to for so long. He shouldn’t see much more game time for us now. Needs a fresh start somewhere else. Cheers I’m impressed, thought you were like that Welsh bloke a few years ago that defended Hennessy no matter what. He was terrible today. Let’s see the midfield for Leeds.

Well done Villa on getting the win. They stopped us playing our game, packed the midfield and won nearly every second ball which was enough to take the 3 points. We couldn’t get going yesterday which was a shame as we would have made in roads to climbing the table. Felt we missed Andersen yesterday which was a blow. His measured passes and going forward would have put Villa under a bit more pressure and freed up Gallagher to exploit the spaces behind their back 4. I don’t want to dig out individual players as I thought they were all below par. As for the ref he got a few decisions wrong, the advantage of play was a bad one and the flashing of the red, which was never a red. My only grumble is the time wasting that goes on, every team that has come to Selhurst has done it to disrupt our rhythm and control of the game. Why the ref didn’t book their keeper is a mystery. He goes over after collecting the ball and complains that his hamstring has gone, holds up play. Then in and instance launches the ball 150 yards into the middle of the park. I would have stopped play , gone back and booked him and told him to take it again. Think the Opposition were playing on the refs first game in the Premiership and a bit of gamesmanship was going on there. Wish I was going to Leeds on Tuesday to see us make amends.

Not so happy with the Kouyate/Luka duo in midfield..and think putting Edouard on the bench always a waste. Would have liked to see Hughes in the starting 11. You were completely right! Luka / Kouyate was the reason we lost. Luka’s distribution and ambition continues to be woeful. We offered nothing in midfield which is where we lost it. We missed McArthur as Gallagher has to play further back and not to his strengths. The sooner he is back, the better. A lot of players were off their game yesterday, but onwards and upwards next week to get back to a winning run.

It was a cold day to watch that dross - no plan or cohesion and at times we looked clueless.
