I dread to think what Roy would have done to Gallagher if he had been here last season. 30 games on the bench and 8 starts as a holding midfielder once Luca gets suspended.

Without Mr Hodgson we'd now be playing in the Championship, so get over your issues with him.

I agree, I wish these idiots would just move on. Would of been really messy on here if RH was still manager today and failed to pick any of Olise, Edouard or Eze.

I think PV is doing a great job, as did RH.

Was a bit taken aback that nobody posted he had scored YT, to make it 1-0! Nothing, zero, zilch, nish! I have never seen a thread here when we go 1-0 up, and nobody at all comments, but they do when he misses that would have made it 2-0! Then nothing, or maybe one, saying he gets the second! Baffling!

Totally agree considering Benteke practically got no service under Hodgson for 3 years or so. I remember him getting slated by a few on here after the Brighton draw. Baffles me. People need to move on from scapegoating and accept he is a good player

What’s your point? Hodgson is a good manager yet many countless games benteke literally got no service?

My point is Benteke is a good player but for whatever reason he had a poor few years where he missed countless chances and seemed to suffer a great loss of confidence where he hid from the ball. He also had some injuries to deal with. However I do not blame it on Roy Hodgson which is the implication of your post. I am really, really pleased Benteke is playing well and getting into goal scoring positions(as he did at the end of last season). Neither of his goals today were scored from crosses, which was constantly being cited in previous years for his poor form.

If we want Benteke to score more goals then Olise needs to play to supply the crosses and I would pick Edouard to support him maybe at the expense of Wilf.

Why is it CP that whether you are on the politics or this chat you are always itching for a reaction.

Benteke did ok, lucky deflection for first goal but got his shot away quickly, then missed a sitter, 2nd goal was a cool finish. He is a centre forward and should finish chances like those. What do you want people to say, “he was awesome”? Because he wasn’t, he was ok.

Benteke haters like you are never happy. If he plays awesome but doesn’t score, “he’s a forward and should be judged on goals.” If he scores a brace but only plays okay, he’s simply scoring the goals he should.”

Give me a break. He’s on fire this season.

We got caught out with Burnley’s hoof ball tactics and Andersen should have got red carded. So happy with a point, but we could and should have taken all 3!

Had all the play and lead on 2 occasions in the match, onwards and upwards I guess.

Give the lads credit for a great 1st half of football. We knew what to expect from the home side, and they did not disappoint. We were all over the place on set pieces but still earned a point. Credit to PV and his staff - only baffled to see Ayew and Benteke in starting 11 with Olise and Edouard on the bench.

Benteke more than justified selection. Ayew not so much. It's time for Olise to start.

He went down too easily, it was a borderline foul nothing more..

This, exactly. When a six-foot four-inch (or whatever) twelve stone finely honed athlete goes down lack a sack of s*** simply because someone brushes a couple of hands across his chest, their credibility goes out the window. I think refs are getting tired of players not trusting their judgment, not letting them run the game and not respecting them; instead simply trying to con them at every turn. I think it was probably a foul (borderline) but the pathetic collapse of the Burnley player who could quite easily have ridden it and still had a scoring opportunity sealed his own fate. Not a great call but maybe enough decisions like this and the penny will finally drop. Players who don't deserve any respect shouldn't be surprised when the ref doesn't give them any.

It looks like we missed MacArthur driving us, and our defending was very poor today. Ward had a bit of a mare.
Not sure why he played Ayew ahead of Edoward but there you go.

Milo instead of MacArthur? Why did we sign Hughes?

Agreed, just cant understand why Ayew plated, Edouards Physical presents alone a against a set piece team, and not Kouyate and Luka, Hughes should fill in for Macca, and is there any danger of Ferguson ever playing a game,
