"It will either be an e-ticket similar to the Brentford fixture, or it will be a digital season ticket that you will download to your mobile wallet and scan at the turnstiles every home match." Clear as mud. Does this mean they will send us one or the other? Or send us both, so that we choose which to use? If they go the digital season ticket route, we will no longer be able to share our tickets, unless we share our phones as well. Or will there be a way around this? Is it possible to transfer a digital season ticket to someone else? How I hate them for doing this to us!

I wonder whether we should infer from your third paragraph that you will get your tickets (NB: the day before the match) only because they've made a special arrangement for you as a result of your going to the box office. Do we all need to do that? I agree about the staff, but I don't accept that this shambles is mainly down to the PL. The Palace "management" (if you can call it that) has known about this for weeks, yet still seems incapable of

They've just spent £60m on players, surely they can afford more than one printer.

So long as an 'e-ticket', i.e. a PDF, is an option for each game alongside the new digital season ticket QR code, then I don't see any issues here. If they're going full app or wallet based without offering alternatives (such as the PDF) then that is stupid. However, I'd be very interested to know the ratio of digitally enabled vs. analogue (no smartphone or access to a printer, private or otherwise) fans. I'd estimate it's about 95/5 digitally enabled. And that's beng generous... Yes it's not ideal if you don't have access to a printer or smartphone, but the only alternative is to have the club send you physical tickets in the post. Once that's set up you don't have to think about it again. Also I really don't think this is about saving the whales, or any other random suggestions on here – the PL have guidelines, most clubs are having to follow suit. Vaccine Passport system also coming on stream soon so whether we like it or not, it's happening. So long as there is a solution for everyone then just get on with it. Call the box office and be proactive if you feel shut out – by the sounds of the post above there are alternative solutions for the minority of analogues, but it certainly would help if someone spelt it out clearly on the site (or for the 5% took out a full page ad in the Croydon Advertiser??)
Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons. |

When idiots from Brighton call us an 'Amateur' Club I do agree with them to an extent. Here we are 3 days before our second home game still waiting to hear what is happening with our season tickets. I emailed the ticket office 4 weeks ago asking for them to clarify some points... It took them 15 days to reply... FIFTEEN Days!!.. They just apologised and said they had 'been busy'... I'm a ST holder and a Gold member. I signed my 7 year old son up to the Junior Gold Membership where he can get a shirt as part of joining. He chose a home shirt. We still haven't received it. The club have stated they have 'supply issues' regarding the Home shirts and can't give a date when they will be sent out. It really does seem to be getting worse and worse regarding the organisation of our club... For an established Premier League Club I think it's a disgrace at how Amateur things seem to be when it comes to organisation and that personal touch
Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |

Fiasco aside, here's a handy hint. I have tickets for my pal and his two kids in my 'wallet'. He can't get them. Because I couldn't share them with him, I took a screen shot of each QR code and sent them to him on WhatsApp. The readers on the turnstile were able to read his QR codes and he got in without issue. It was harder for me (but not dramatically so) because I tried to access our QR codes through Google pay and I'd forgotten how terrible Internet connection can be. This weekend, I'll ensure all tickets are available in a way that doesn't need Internet connection. So I'll grab them and save them as images some place.

We did exactly the same for the Brentford game and none of our four images/pdfs/printouts were read first time by the turnstile readers.
