72. 72 years of accumulating and sharing football knowledge. I think the idea that the ability to impart that kind of knowledge ends when one approaches or gets to that age is rubbish.

If Vieira become manager he will be the only black manager in the prem. As we morph to a darker shade as a nation, Palace are right up there leading the conversion in football. Especially if we are taken over by the likes of Thierry Henry and his conglomérate of ex black players. Interesting times. Wonder if this will happen? Forgive my ignorance but I always assumed Nuno Espirito Santo was black.

I don't care a toss what colour the new manager's skin is. What matters is - can he do a job by leading us to higher things? Who knows? But Vieira's CV is underwhelming and I have a nasty feeling this could be another of Parish's risky gambles, perhaps on a par with Frank de Boer. If Parish knew Hodgson was leaving why on earth did he not have plans A, B & C in place ? He had enough time but now it all seems like pathetic desperation. At the moment 9/4 to be relegated seems reasonable.
Man and boy Palace since my first game in 1948 sitting on my dad's shoulders |

Plan A - Nuno Spurs, Everton and Fulham have only just announced their new managers we seem still on track to announce ours very soon too. As for PVs CV - I agree he doesn’t have Juergen Klopp’s managerial record as someone else has pointed out nor did Juergen when he started. And of course we are not Liverpool.

Well I consider myself one of the don't knows but don't agree that Parish's plans A, B, and C were as stated. Candidate A (Nuno) was still with Wolves when he knew Roy Hodgson was leaving. However, I reserve judgement and see where we are in December. Happy to be proved wrong if Vieira is still there and prospering.

I have expressed disappointment if PV but PV + BK may work. And colour is irrelevant. Their combined CV and period of working together becomes more impressive. Obviously if true??
