Cannot disagree with any of that. And perhaps final proof I need to bow out of this political malarkey. Once you start feeling pity for the enemy then perhaps it is time to stand aside from the fight? Bloody hell, I even think Corbyn is rather hard done by at the moment! LOL. (But centre right? Please...I have a reputation to maintain). Edited by Matov (29 Nov 2020 9.44pm)

The incompetence oozes out of Croydon. The brick by brick scandal, the purchase of a hotel. Not one shred of understanding of the property industry and yet she is now totally qualified as an equality and diversity professional to dig Croydon out of a £1.5 Billion pound hole. Do you know how to get a top job at Croydon? Just answer all the equality and diversity questions correctly. Having expert knowledge of a particular subject and in particular finance and property somehow doesn’t seem to matter. An easy answer to this. Do not let councillors manage budgets. Something drastic has to change.

How on earth does getting rid of the limited free parking actually help anyone? So many small retail shops are already in trouble and all it will do is see a lot more people going up to the big Supermarkets and parking for nothing as opposed to shopping locally. Just ludicrous.

Totally with you on this, they will kill off Croydon completely the way they are going. I used to drive in there on the odd occasion but it is easy for me to just never bother again.

Croydon is dying and it does not need to be this way. Incredible transport links, fast access to not only central London but also Gatwick airport. Fairfield Halls all done up and looking shiny. Yes, Covid is doing all sorts of things to everybody but these problems were there long before some Chinese radge got a bit of cough. They should be INCREASING free parking. Expanding the hour free to all parts of the borough. It's beyond lunacy to take that away. You have to wonder what on earth are their thought processes? Because outside of some short term gain, it achieves absolutely nothing. Drives even more people out of the borough, quite literally, to go shopping and spend their money. They piss millions up the wall on what must be the only loss making property business in the last 5 years and then think the best way to help local business is take away an hours free parking. Utter madness. Beyond any kind of rational justification. Or do they honestly think that people will prefer to go somewhere they have to pay?

It may have many things but incredible transport links is not one of them. Gatwick and London yes. What about going East to say Chelmsford? North to Birmingham or Manchester? West to Bristol? It is a right pain and encourages the use of cars.
