7% of people in the UK are in deep poverty. 4.5m including 1.3m children. 3.9m children live in poverty and a total of 14.4m people,10.7m of whom are white. So not some kind of imported underclass. But half of those live in a family with someone that is disabled.

The Covid 19 pandemic has had a disproportionate effect on those people already in poverty compared to everyone else.

Historically 72,000 children a year are looked after by local authorities.

I blame the children who chose to be born into a family where someone then went on to become disabled

I also blame footballers for not feeding 1.3million children, what were they thinking?

All figures from the Social Metrics Commission.

Id be interested in how those numbers compare to previous decades and governments. And the immigration/training policies we’ll be using to keep people here in poverty, while adding more and more, as we always do. That’s unless we do a New Labour and chuck them a few quid a week while we (encouragingly) import hundreds of thousands of people to do jobs up to half the people could do. But of course there a lot of useless people or people who would rather not do something they’d rather not or can’t hold down a job because they’re only use is putting prepared food in a microwave or oven.

I agree the government should’ve supplied the meals but not Easter. Review the situation before then and start analysing the reasons.

I make no insinuations. I am perfectly clear. In your posts you show zero thought for any other person. There is no sign you care about anyone other than yourself. What is worse you vilify those that do care, using soppy labels like virtue signalling. It is you that posts to make yourself feel better. You appear to live in a grey world without love and to want everyone else to suffer the same experience. That is extraordinarily sad. One day I hope you will show some empathy but if you can’t even care about small children going hungry in England it is hard to see what may touch upon any small spark of kindness you may once have had.

I have lots of love. I also have no sympathy for those who don't help themselves.

There are millions of small children starving and dying on the planet every day. This will continue as long as the human race exists. In some places on earth, people have virtually nothing. In Britain, we are wealthy by comparison.

Your presumptions and character assassinations about someone you don't even know just demonstrate how stupid you are.

Thanks for posting, was gonna do it myself.
Some parents struggle and have done for years but with this corona pandemic added to it there are a lot of families struggling and this is great that many people are forgetting political differences and just helping out so kids get meals through the holidays.

Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he’s destroying is this God he’s worshipping.

Again you say it, you have no sympathy for those who don't help themselves. You are talking about small children for whom you have no sympathy, funnily enough not in a position to help themselves.

If Britain is so wealthy why are children in Britain going hungry? Perhaps because many people take the same view as you, feck em they don't deserve helping.

I have presumed nothing and I know nothing of your circumstances since we used to play together in the Rec.

What I have commented upon are your posts, bleak as Oldham on a Tuesday night. You show no love and no empathy on these boards, I do hope you show it elsewhere but you have never indicated that you do.

I'm thinking that he's maybe just depressed and doesn't talk about it, rather than this truly being his actual personality. Such perpetual disdain and dislike of others - including those pulling their weight - is clearly not particularly normal.

Yes, you'd certainly think so wouldn't you. I'd say the less purpose people feel in their own lives the more they sneer at efforts like this. Helping others, especially hungry kids, is a laudable cause to rally behind.

You are making me laugh.

I'm very happy for people to help the feckless if that makes them feel better. Some people find themselves in dire straits for no fault of their own and that is unfortunate.
I certainly won't spend my short life constantly worrying about complete strangers and no ghosts of Christmas will change that. If I do help people out who cross my path, I won't be crowing about it on here.

Virtue signalling makes me puke.

Why the hell does 5 Live not make anything at all of our goals? Just oh look, there's a goal.

You get the feeling we aren't as favoured as Fulham, or anyone else.
