Firstly You insult others more than most but do it more subtly in the hope that it isn't noticed and secondly I actually share very few views with the person whom you claim I defended but whatever his views he is a prominent poster to this forum whereas the person whom I admonished is little more than a sniper.

If I was as one sided as you suggest I would have given you a yellow card for breaking rule 22

I'd say that's pretty accurate.

He's given out plenty and I'm still enjoying the insult of being called a 'sub species'...Which was quite clever but when this individual complains about what he gets back here he just highlights his narrow perspective.

There's a line about heat and kitchens which he doesn't appear to acknowledge.

We know his game on here....He is deliberately provocative on this forum because he wants the attention. He's allowed license that the bbs doesn't give the right and to cap it all he has the cheek to complain.

There is also the claim that this is all some sort of social experiment whereby certain opinions can be probed and questioned for use in future discussions with more worthy foes amongst the Cornish intelligentsia
Had I been clever enough to realise these threads were being used for such worthy research I might have taken them more seriously.

I never post anything in the hope it isn't noticed. I try to make points without getting personal. If anyone thinks a shoe fits, and gets upset by that, then that's their own responsibility.

It ought not to matter how often a person posts or whether they are regarded as a "sniper". I am unaware of any special dispensation for regular posters or restrictions on occasional ones.

What ought to matter, in my opinion, is to ensure a totally consistent approach which is Fair for all.

So making arbitrary decisions can appear to be done on a personal whim.

If you disagree with that poster it is markedly absent from your own posts, both in direct contradictions and in the opinions you routinely post yourself. You disagree with pretty much everything I post yet don't hesitate to say so.

As you have pointed out to me in the past you are both a moderator and a contributor here. My comments above are addressed to the latter. It was yourself who opened up the discussion by posting a warning publically rather than in a private message.

Whilst on the subject of "rules" I notice that many posters seem to be given a free pass on No 7 which is emphasised and clarified by the locked topic at the top of the board.

More sauce for the goose?

That's the kind of twisted logic that comes from the WH these days!

I am not conducting any kind of "social experiment"! All I am doing is trying to understand what and why the group of posters who compromise the majority on here think whilst bouncing my own ideas off them to learn how they react.

I am already only too well aware of the direction of political travel both here and in the USA. I don't like it and believe it to be an unhealthy.

Understanding why people think that way is the first step to improving things. Discussing this with others who share the same worries is just a normal activity.

Read the last line again. The problem is that you take everything too seriously.
Yes, I know the fate of the known universe is at stake but if you feel that strongly about it then don’t waste your time on a CPFC site.

Lefties are totally toxic.

Social and neo liberalism with its core belief of egalitarianism has downgraded social cohesion and changed the living spaces of the working classes.

Apparently you're meant to enjoy your 's***e' sandwich while a lot of these social liberals live in nice areas protected by house price.

They are worse than the criminals.

Even when Muslims take kids out of school because they disagree with the law of the land the lefties don't see the problems they are creating.

I try never to waste my time, especially now it is running out fast. Whether I am actually learning very much here these days is a good question as I suspect we will all be treading water until November in the USA and December here. Until then I guess we will just more of the same alt right style moaning and groaning about anything remotely progressive. The number of times I read "lefties" being condemned for the world's problems always amuses, even though it makes me sad to think that so many are that prejudiced.

I don't, by the way, include you in that criticism. You are always polite and respectful whilst disagreeing, even if a little sarcastic at times.

I do though think we need to take things seriously. What we face isn't funny. The climate emergency is real yet we have the most powerful country on earth being led by a man intent on making things worse. We have the expectation of a substantial growth in the world's population, which raises many serious questions and no universally accepted answers.

I am OK. It won't really impact me. So why do I care so much? Why not just go and have fun while I can?

It's because I have kids, grandkids and one great granddaughter that I love. As well as a lovely wife who I expect to outlive me.

I know my voice is insignificant but lots of insignificant voices together can make a lot of noise. And at least I have tried.
