I think the man management of the players may be causing an issue too. There is a fear to the way we play. What's the point of playing well - like Riedewald, he's dropped for PVA - who was frankly appalling. Benteke is out of form - but never gets to play with two out and out wingers. Roy has his favourites and his "methods" which he is so fond of quoting. These methods include The same freekick taker for everything - and it's crap. Three holding midfielders - which stifles creativity - they look afraid to go forwards. Everything being defence minded. He did a great job of steadying the ship - but as a man manager and an attacking coach we really lack anything. If we don't have the players for a free flowing attacking game - then work on set pieces. Pulis managed to squeeze a tune out of a far worse side than this. Fear only gets you so far - and you know you play crap in one game you will still get picked for the next if your face fits. I agree there are issues with Hodgson, but if you gave Chris Wilder our squad we'd be struggling. Wilf, a very injury prone Andros, Meyer - that's all the midfield creativity we have. Having to rely on Benteke up front? Who'd even take this job?

I thought Wilf looked really good today and with a decent striker in the box we could have won. Sheff Utd should have been playing with 10 men for over half the game and yet the ref tried to send Ward off! Vicente should have been stronger for the goal, but he wouldn't have dropped it if the player hadn't pushed him. I know I'm going somewhat against the grain here, but I thought we looked much more balanced with PvA and Ward back in, and PvA and Zaha linked up well and a draw would have been more reflective of the game. However, Bentenke once again looked like a lost sheep and the sooner he's back on the bench the better.

Reidweld replaced by PVA why??? The 3 functional midfielders create absolutely nothing once again. Have had enough of clueless hodgson Not the reason we slid to defeat today, altho he merited a starting position. Simply if you don't score you aren't going to get points if you concede. Unfortunately it is going to be poor fair from us until the end of the season, as it hasn't been addressed in the transfer window. Could easily get twitchy if we don't put some points on the board up to the last 5 games.

Don’t have a problem with Guaita making a mistake won us more points than lost. I wouldn’t worry about getting rid off Roy he will walk at some point soon. The support from SP and the board has been p**s poor. I worrry about getting relegated now.

But we look like a side that is more scared of losing 3-0 than trying to get something out of it. Camarasa came in - never got a sniff None of us know if any of the above are the answer to the midfield issue - but it can't be any worse. Three holding midfielders every game. We have Wilf and he is a condfidence player - build something in that utilises him - make him the focal point rather than sending a team out every week that looks scared of it's shadow.

To be fair Shef Utd have a good defence and aren't a bad side. But we haven't got a player with any competence in front of goal. Benteke does not seem to know how to kick a football. Perhaps we need to pay him more. Hard to see anything other than the odd 0-0 in the next games. How on earth did we score 2 against City? Oh one was an OG.
I have now sufficient funds to last me the rest of my life. Provided I don't buy anything. |

If it’s a lack of funds, why not at least change it up a bit and try something new. Have 2 defence minded midfielders, give Jairo a chance in front of them as he actually looks like he can pass, wilf and andros either side and give Benteke if that’s all we have at least some ammunition. Every week it’s the same stale boring football. I guess there are plenty of people who are just happy to be in the premiership but surely after all this time we should want a bit more.

Seriously wonder if some of our players have had their heads turned by Transfer market speculation e.g. PVA; Guaita etc. Can't be much doubt either that players must be disappointed sub-standard performance in transfer market when, especially with number of injuries, there was the need to bolster squad and morale. Once again the finishing let us down today. Can't see us even buying a goal at the moment - can you?

It could also be down to the fact that if you were an attacking player - would you actually want to play under RH.

Sorry lads. I never thought we'd take 6points off your boy's and it's nothing personal. At least we both not in a relegation battle because I'd hate that to be happening. We both move on all the very best lads..Good luck.
