Watkins would score more goals than Mateta, Edouard, Ayew, Plange added together. However I doubt we could afford the transfer fee.
Based on those figures, in order for Watkins to score more goals than even Edouard and Mateta combined he wo0uld need to spend significantly more time on the pitch than the two of them combined. Edited by doombear (12 Aug 2022 10.29am)

I'm still not sure on Édouard just yet but I think righting them off after one full season, a transition season at that is a bit harsh

If Watkins is available for some of the prices mentioned it would be a no brainer. With DCL stuttering, he'll be pushing hard to be Kane's no2 for the world cup. Though I cant see Villa letting him go that cheaply, to another midfield team, and before they have a replacement in.

I've been a big fan of this lad for some time, and written as much on here before. I'd love to see him at Palace, but can't see that happening.
Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled. |

The likes of Wilf are suppose to provide it but more interest in the glory themselves and messing about rather then putting balls into the box. This is the area we need new players someone who can put in balls or slip through quick balls.

Fan of Watkins as a player but not of how he dives a lot as he did at Selhurst Park last year with Villa.

He works extremely hard and even when he is not scoring he offers so much for the team.He scores all types of goals and even though he is not 'North' of 6ft he does well in the air. A chap texted me this morning mentioning that Watkins was known as the "Newton Abbot Neymar" when he was in Devon but I am unclear as to whether he was merely jesting. A fair assessment I'd say Willo, your chum wasn't jesting at all.

Watkins is a decent player but not much better if at all better than what we have. He is not a prolific goal scorer at this level. I can’t imagine we would interested in him.
