spurs were absolutely f***ing on it today...we were not.

sakho was rushed back, and was found wanting 1st half.

these things happen, spurs always beat us anyway.

Why does it have to be a knee jerk reaction to a defeat?
As I’ve said it’s four goalless games out of 6 which is more of the same pattern under most of Hodgson’s tenure.
He can organise a defence (apart from today!), but not a purposeful attacking formation.
I think this bears scrutiny.

It certainly does.

Starting with the options available to him

Well beaten. Spurs first half got on a roll and played well.
We actually did open them up at times, but we move on and aim for 6 points next 2 games. We must go out and attack both these teams and play aggressively.
We write off today. It’s no disgrace to lose away to Spurs with the players they have.

Spot on, but history does not look like that is what we will do under the current regime. It's the hope that kills.

Not sure if it was how good Spurs were, more how bad we were in that first half, a bad day at the office, maybe Roy’s pep talk during the week about how bad things will be at Palace this season had the desired effect.

Roy can be really inspirational when he wants to be...

Just because we are the last team to win at Man City,Man Utd,Liverpool and Arsenal, doesn't mean that we are going to do it everytime.Surely the unpredictability of football is why we are hooked on this game.

Disappointing but this can happen against a top 6 side with the approach that we took. I think after winning our last 2 games we were pushing too high up the pitch 1st half trying to take the game to them. Reality check, we aren’t good enough to do this against a top side, we have to sit deep at all times and break as a unit. Just my opinion.

I thought this.

The only positive is that it stayed 4 nil, I was worried about a cricket score. The just ran us ragged which there is no shame in because they are one of the top teams in Europe. Thank christ they took their foot off the gas second half.

Benteke should be put down, he is completely finished.

If we had any sort of composure or passing abilty we could have scored a couple today.

Glad it stayed 4-0. More than that and the score alone can be more damaging.

What’s this midweek Roy pep talk about how bad things at Palace will be this season?

Yes it would've been demoralising. It's not a terrible start to the season all in all. There are fundamental problems though, that are clear as day. A tough season ahead.

We were due a thumping ... and we got one, from one of the best teams in Europe.

2nd half we contained them and credit to Roy for ensuring that after that first half ...

In simple terms / 3 words ... Champions League Finalists!

Next!!!

No great shock - reminded me of Arsenal away the other season. Roy has summed up our position on MOTD. His brief is to keep us in the Premiership, which he has managed to do. That is the limit of our ambition and with a capacity of 26,000 and no money, don't expect anything to change any time soon.

I don't give a monkeys what final Spurs were in last year - I want us to compete, but finances dictate that we will be forever making up the numbers, along with Burnley, Watford, Southampton etc etc. The Board will consider fourth from bottom as success!

I thought Kouyate went ok and same with Ward , all the danger came down the other side. In hindsight this was not the match to bring back Sakho, Kouyate should be an option after the summer but probably isn’t drilled.

The most frustrating performance was Roy’s. 4:0 down and you don’t change anything until a late swap of Ayew. We have Meyer, Camarasa, Mcarthy and even Reidewald who all need minutes. We could have come out and Kosovo’d it in the second half but no we just keep going with failed plan A. When we go down Roy seems to have no idea or energy to change. So frustrating.
