I am happy with this point tbh. Zaha should have started. Everton were the favorites but we played good at the back today. Hopefully, we are more clinical in the front in the future.
Big up the Palace!!!! |

A good result against a much fancied Everton team. Actually think the sending off worked against us, can easily be said `we couldn't beat a 10 man team at home` rather than us being able to say we got a good point against a good team. Interesting seeing on here the Tekkers comments as the commentators on BBC London seemed to think he did well, tracked back to win balls etc. Also sounded like Ayew amd Meyer played well. I couldn't watch the game only listen so any thoughts?
Meyer was solid and good to see him get 90 minutes - Missed a great chance. I think Benteke done ok considering the conditions, he done no worse than Evertons front men.He just doesnt seem to get himself in the right positions to score.

Well done ,you Eagles, Roy, the boys. Always underrated. But never down. Handled the Zaha, situation, perfectly, and Everton almost perfect. Just that goal thing again. But surely the ice has got to break shortly.?

Fair result, not sure on mom, but thought Joel had a good game, Ayew too. Should start with Connor rather that CB.

Unfortunately, Roy was as pragmatic as ever. He could’ve gone for the jugular and put Connor up top with Ben. Take off Jimmy Mac and give Everton problems by making them have to re-adjust by having Wilf and Andros crossing balls in to the two target men and maybe - just maybe something may have happened in front of goal. An opportunity lost! But a clean sheet and a point on the board - a positive start!

Think Bentwke did his job well today, just didn’t get a chance. That unfortunately fell for Ayew who showed good industry but lack of quality so no surprise. Maxi was busy, again could of had more end product and I thought defence were solid despite PVA looking as though he has football playing amnesia still. Townsend didn’t do much and both Lula and Macca were well off the pace. That said I think we were worth the point, I’m happy with that, I said it on wilfs thread and I’ll say it again, Everton are a pathetic attempt at Man City and certainly this season will win nothing. The away end nearly combusted when Mosie Kean came on but he did nothing. Embarrassing. Overall very proud today, well done Palace! 3 points vs Sheffield United and I’ll be in dream land.... temporarily. COYP
Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!! |

We should have won it really, but its a good point against a dangerous side. A dangerous side who were delighted to walk out of that with a point in the end. More than the point its about the performance. It was a good home performance and sets the tone well, missing some players who can only make us better. Second stringers at both CB positions and they looked solid. We have Sakho and Tomkins to walk back in there. We were not quite at it first half but second half we started to get things going. Zaha is not fully up to speed but he will get there and we still have Camarasa to come in and show some creativity. It aint good news for Jeff Schlupp basically but I am ok with that - our midfield is stacked. Our issue re depth is at fullback and do we have a striker at the club who can hit the onion bag? Zaha will get goals but if Benteke or Wickham can actually fire we could be dangerous.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

Better than our start last season i.e. an away win? That was against a poor, poor side. Defensively Fulham were an utter shambles all year. This is a significant marker that we just laid down given our home form of recent seasons, and that Everton are a good premier league side who are tasty coming forward.
