Regardless unless something is done to alter it we seem to be heading towards a Chinese style social credit/Corporatocracy.....which I would have thought would suit your types down to the ground. Mind you...when applied to the west the social credit system will just result in the re-enforcement of the old class system. Edited by Stirlingsays (14 Aug 2019 5.04pm)

That's complete bs. The leaders of the EU are the heads of state of it's members. All are elected. Nothing major will happen unless they all agree. That some officials make noises about what they are personally in favour of means very little in the overall scheme of things. The idea that a "EU army" is suddenly going to be formed, and the British army disappear, is quite ridiculous scaremongering. What is much more likely to happen is an increasing level of co-operation over procurement and training so that combined, coordinated future efforts are made simpler, more effective and cheaper. What a complete load of tosh there is a video of the guy woldfelt (or whatever his name is),openly stating that they would push through laws with or without all member states voting for them. Why does a trading block need an anthem army, and a flag. Open your eyes FFS.

Essentially the disingenuous have been spreading half truths and directly lying about the EU since the seventies.

The EU cannot make significant changes without the approval of all it's members.

Well the UK government is elected and nominates its own commissioners, as do the others. The EU commission is not a parliament, there is the EU parliament. You wouldn't want the House of Commons actually running anything, God help us. The EU negotiators are competent officials as we have clearly seen, they do not turn up at a negotiation with a blankety-blank pencil set and lecture people about democracy, not that the UK is actually a democracy anyway. I do not think of commissioners as elected politicians but as EU public servants at a very high level. This is WRONG It was a blankety-blank chequebook and pen

One had no stated motive and yet some people and pundits immediately jumped to the conclusion that because it was a certain type of person, that was the reason behind the act. We should base all of these acts of violence on the facts, so here while it could've been political, it was at 2am on a Saturday night, a time hardly shy of a drunken fight or ten.
