Of course you won’t ‘undo’ predjudice. What a stupid thing to say. Racism will always be there.

What you can do is send a message that won’t prevent racist attitudes amongst some of the crowd but it will make them think twice about publicising them for 90 minutes. And I see nothing wrong with that. Even if it ends up with people self policing not because they are anti racist but because they don’t want some utter moron screwing it up for everyone else.

Same goes for clubs with t***s that run on the pitch and lamp people. Ban, fine and points deduction. Same same.

As MC Skibadee once said, Deal with the matter, Deal with it proper.

This all just hot air, along with abuse.

Nah. Pretty valid.

It's not footballs issue to solve. It is however its issue to police. Just like thuggery, targeted abuse etc. etc. The approach is not exclusive to racism. But doing any of these reproachable things is exclusive to morons.

Abuse or a truism? Have you turned into a sarcastic snowflake now you have a card? Give it a rest.

I am way past internet fisty cuffs and you don't represent much of a challenge.

Is a fisty cuff something you might find on the dark web? Or maybe in the even darker corners of your bedroom?

I digress

You require something to challenge with in order to challenge in the first place. Maybe start there. You know, debating the point rather than pulling it back to your lowest common denominator (immigration) all the time. By the way there’s a thread for that.

Policing anti social and dangerous behaviour in a more draconian way as a last resort is not exactly rocket science. It will work as a deterrent. What it won’t do is solve the social reasons for racism or eliminate it happening at a football ground entirely. But I’m pretty sure no one is silly enough to believe that.

Tolerance of overly abusive behaviour, physical assault is not the price to pay for ‘not punishing a nation’. Why? Because of its frequency. If these were rare events then I’d agree. But recently they are occurring far more, and there needs to be a stronger solution to that otherwise you’re just saying ‘let it happen’.

I'm not repeating myself. I have expressed my opinion quite clearly.

Funny how it always comes back to segregation regardless of which side implements it.

Noted. I do still want to know what a ‘fisty cuff’ is though. Suppose I’ll never find out now

But if you seriously think you are going to undo prejudice in virtual single culture countries then that is wishful thinking.

Exactly. As you’ve said, it takes time.

This is what he did up until the incident at Chelsea. That was the final straw and since then I think he has spoken eloquently, and correctly, about the abuse he and others received.

If you get endless abuse just for doing your job, irrespective of how much you are paid, you will eventually react. The fact it's for the colour of his skin, something he has no control over, just makes it even worse.

Ignoring it won't make it go away. Highlighting it, punishing those responsible harshly, and education will.

By saying 'ignore it', you're part of the problem.

I doubt you’re going to educate adults in these countries to change and because of that the children are susceptible to racism as well. The issue is just hidden from camera and sound mic.

For all the whinging and whining by progressives in the U.K., the prejudice is nothing like in the wonderfully cosmopolitan EU, including countries like Spain, Italy, along the Mediterranean and elsewhere in Europe. How ironic.

'Education'.

The only way you make people on mass 'get along' together is interdependence.......You can't 'teach' people to like each other, that's called indoctrination.....very soviet and it doesn't work anyway it just hides it via repression.

The ethics of making people 'interdependent' on another when they don't wish to be is off the charts.

Oh and very EU.

How many hundred years have the English, Scots, Welsh and Irish had to learn to get along?
