The guy has a touch, some skill and can turn and wallop the ball towards goal.
Why oh why is it so difficult to get a striker who is willing to charge about, challenge for everything and always be in the mixer. Where are we going to find our poor mans Diego Costa in the summer?
Barring a distinct upturn in goal output over these last games, If we end up splurging 30 millies on Batman I would be mortified.
Just want a horrible ugly hardnut who can score, where is he.

Reading through fifteen clubs with the biggest and best contracts.

His lack of desire to challenge for balls in the air was annoying.

Yeah I’d be interested in Mitrovic at a good price.

He doesn’t ever challenge in the air and tbf he probably never needed to before coming to us and our players have mostly caught onto that.

He's started 5 of our PL games since he arrived, and he's scored 2 goals, both in away wins.

He's not the best at fighting for headers, but anytime he has the ball around goal, he's a threat to score on his own. Unlike, say, everyone else we have other than Wilf.

Ok, so he was ineffective in the Huddersfield game, but I'd happily start him every game the rest of the season. He's miles better than anything else we have at that position.

Ideally, maybe we'd have Bats and Benteke up front, Wilf and Andros out wide. But if the choice is Benteke who scores once every Halley's comet, or Bats who scores 2 out of 5 games, I'm taking Bats.

2018 Jan. (Sako) Palace 1 - 0 Burnley
2019 May (Batshuayi, Batshuayi, OG, Van Aanholt, Townsend) Palace 5 - 3 Bournemouth
2020 Feb. (Van Aanholt) Palace 1 - 0 Newcastle

Benteke has an adequate cameo appearance and suddenly he's back in favour?

Bats is much more effective

He has been awful and expensive past two years, end of IMO.

He's supposed to be better than adequate FFS

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance.

I don't see the appeal.

His MO seems to be playing like the best striker in the world for 5 matches and then being completely anonymous for the next 33.

Batshuayi has never been a conventional target man fighting for balls in the air, he has always favoured the ball to feet or into the channels. He is not a player to win balls in the air as we have witnessed this season. He was certainly disappointing against Huddersfield finding himself offside on a few occasions.

He was poor positionally, in the air, with his decision making and with his distribution. Worst performance by him for us so far.

To be fair pretty much everyone was s***e who started on Saturday. He had one chance in the whole game and got blocked. I reckon it he had had the chances Andros and Wilf had had he would have tucked at least one away.
