No need for arguements. Palace appear to now have 2 decent keepers. Great! Both of whom seem to be upping the others game! Great! Both of whom seem to be fully ready when called upon. Great! And importantly both seem happy. Great! A sign of good recruitment, good man management...a few more acquisitions like this in other positions could just make us a solid prem team.

Wayne has earned the number one shirt this season. Roy bought Vicente in as he was poor in the early part of last season, but he has transformed his game. Could Vicente prove to be the better keeper? Possibly, but it is very unfair to say that if Wayne is back in goal next week it is because of favouritism.

How has he earnt it? VG wasn't ready until recently, the change of leagues, cultures, language was always going to take time.

So, had we signed De Gea, would he still be rested for Wayne who has earnt it??

VG had an advantage AWB and PVA were clearly instructed to curb their attacking instincts. Kelly came in and played well. Therefore our defence looked solid under pressure. We also had less possession than the opposition and defended deeper.
The midfield was solid and Roy got the tactics right. Behind the outfield players VG looked assured. It is very hard to judge on one game when we clearly played in a different way.

Seems the point went over your head.

Let’s see here, Guaita has played champions league for Valencia, and was one of the most sought after keepers in La Liga.

Wayne came from Wolves, and took over 70 games to find any kind of form or consistency. He is a bang average premier league keeper.

Do you listen to the Palace pods, PZ eagle? Do you know who Adam Sells is? How about the guys on BOTN? How about ex palace keeper John Burridge? None of them believe Hennessey is the long term answer and all agree we can do better, to a man.

Ask yourself this question, as you seem partisan to the point of a Trump supporter:

If Guaita came in, and turned out to be a better goalie for us than Wayne - making more saves, winning more games etc, would that make you unhappy?

If the answer is no, then why can’t you support Guaita having his chance to show what he can do?

Firstly keep your American politics out of this forum I have no views on Trump whatsoever. I am on the side of fairness and so far this season Wayne has not done anything to warrant getting dropped. You are just one of those Hennessey haters who won't give him any praise at all whatever he does. Sure Guaita made ONE
good save even though he got lucky when the ball rebounded off the post back into his arms. Against that however he made an almighty cock up when Vardy robbed him to put he ball in the net. Lucky for him the ref judged him to have been fouled.
Wait until/if Wayne cocks up like that or emulates the Livverpool keeper in dropping a routine cross as he did to gift Man U their equaliser on Sunday before calling for him to be replaced.

I was comparing you to a partisan Trump supporter, PZ Eagle, I wasnt saying you actually support Trump. Lol.

I dont hate Wayne Hennessey, I just know we can do better, despite his recent upturn in form.

As someone else said earlier, if we signed De Gea should we still sit him on the bench as Wayne is our number 1? PVA hasnt done much to get dropped by if we got a 22 year old Ashley Cole in the door, he would be my first choice left back.

Guaita was wanted by Barcelona. He is a quality, quality keeper. Agree he made a mistake with Vardy but was smart enough to rectify it and not let the goal in. It was his first Premier League start ever, gotta cut a guy some slack there. The one save, was indeed one save, but that was down to how poor Leicester were, but it was a world class save.

Its not about a vendetta, or 'Hendetta', against Wayne Hennessey, he deserves a lot of praise for the mental strength he has shown especially during a long spell where he was a poor, poor option for us.

Anyway...You didnt answer my question, would you be unhappy if Guaita came in and exceeded the performances of Wayne and won us more games and points?

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

I thought Guaita was better at handling crosses and seems to have slightly better reflexes and positioninal awareness. Didn't think much of his dribbling though. Both seem like decent keepers, Guaita just seems to have that something extra.

He has the crisper zip of his short distribution as well but perhaps the Continetal problem of not expecting a mad Englishman like Vardy pounding towards you whilst trying to take a goal kick.

I think City is the game for him. We almost certainly lose but if he plays a blinder and either earns us a point single-handedly (a miracle) or plays so well we only lose by 1 then he should be our Keeper.

If he hesitates on the ball with Sterling, Jesus and Sane pressing him then he will cost us goals and it will be clear Wayne goes back in for the winnable game against Cardiff.

Wouldn't it be terrible if Wayne gets the next 2 now just out of favouritism and he makes a mistake that means we lose to Cardiff. The fans would be calling for his blood again and Wayne's confidence goes back to square one.

In fact, having watched closely for a while, Wayne is excellent at landing the ball on his chosen head. It is remarkably consistent. In general that is our tallest avaiable player. I don't think you can complain about his kicking and he is also highly two footed, more so than Guaita.

I think that it's fantastic that WH is playing well and realising his potential: it shows you the importance of a strong squad providing competition for places. At the same time, I don't think 10 very good performances this season cancel out the 80 bad ones he had previously when his place was safe. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it's an absolute disgrace that this capability only comes to the surface when there's a personal interest: losing a starting place. I understand Roy's decision to stick with WH. He's told him it's his place to lose and it's worked well. VG has the opportunity now and I hope he takes it. He took a bad touch early on against LCFC and it didn't phase him; he had a fantastic game thereafter and looks class. Quick Recovery is a sign of a top, top player in any position.

Big game for Vicente today. It seems highly probable that he will get lots of chances to impress. Maybe he will produce a performance like last season when he helped his team hold Barcelona to 0-0 with a string of impressive saves. If Wayne had been fit I think he would have come back in, but now VG has a real chance to stake a claim after having very little to do in his previous appearances.

In my opinion Wayne kicks the ball out for throw-ins far too regularly.
Guaita has miles better distribution.
But that’s my opinion so no problem
