the whole courtroom case looks like a circus.

Charges Dismissed and the accused found Not Guilty, quite right too...and I see the Chief Magistrate has heavily criticised the prosecution case.

An absolute disgrace that he was even charged in the first place.

The right result for the wrong reason?

The prosecution claimed it was a racist act but from what I saw that doesn't appear to be the case I am surprised that the CPP would have allowed that line with out any evidence to back it up.

I think the magistrate hinted she was about to find him guilty when the prosecution revealed they had been withholding evidence that's why i say right result wrong reason. I don't know that for certain but if you read her comments she is clearly angry with the prosecution.

This case should never have gone to court disgusting yes criminal no.

Whilst I agree it is not a criminal matter, I think it speaks volumes about you if you found the video humorous.

I'm against the thought police.
I didn't find it funny but there are certain situations and certain times that various things can be funny.
Stag weekends are close to the mark on jokes
I'm sure hen nights are the same.
Banter about Brighton within the right circle of friends can be funny.

Know your audience!!!

My point being this oversteps what most people would consider ‘the mark’.

A scumbag level joke, but the cost should be social rather than legal.

I don’t think Tommy Robinson being convicted and Grenfell are on the same scale of tragedy - I’m very confident that most people would agree.

I found the Grenfell 'joke' highly offensive.....though bad taste jokes about tragedies are part of human nature.

That said, I'm completely and utterly fed up with censorship....the 'mark' can 'set and go' as far as I'm concerned.....people should have the right of reply and then block.

Some people say horrible stuff and if someone can take an inch, another will take a mile....People with sense knows that and whitewashing reality away doesn't change it.

cryrst was making a point but I know he understands that much as the treatment of Robinson annoys me jokes about him are not comparable to people making light of a high rise going up and people being human torches....But I take his point about offense being different for different people.

Yes, good old British humour. What a laugh. Dozens of people die in an horrific fire (including children) and we can always see the funny side.

Then we get the other comments about freedom of speech. Yes, it is quite alright to gloat over the hideous deaths, especially if the majority of people involved have different skin pigments to us.

Some of the contributions on here are a disgrace and makes me a feel a bit sick that I support the same football team as the people who write them.
