Jedinak just put another pen away for the kangaroos.

I just saw the (VAR) penalty award on TV, and I have to say I find it baffling.

There isn’t a group of death without Holland or Italy but Argentina’s group has turned into one with them being s*** and Croatia, Nigerian and Iceland being useful.

For me, Argentina has made group D the ‘group of hilarity’.

It could become even funnier if Iceland beat Nigeria and then in the final match of the group Iceland and Croatia pass the ball sideways for a 0-0 draw and Argentinia go out like I think happened in Germany ‘74 with East and West Germany.

I'm sure FIFA will conjour something up, sponsors won't want Messi going home early

Thing the argies will scrape through. Think they will beat Nigeria, Croatia will beat Iceland. Can only see a Nigeria win or draw against Iceland. Unfortunately

It’s certainly made one of the boring groups interesting.

I’m looking forward to all the knockout games and some of the final group games. I’ve picked a few of the good group games and missed lots of the rubbish.

Don't think so,Rudi. East Germany beat West Germany in the final group game to win the group, with West Germany second. But both had already qualified for the next phase, so it was a 'dead rubber'.

West Germany and Austria did the dirty on Algeria in 1982, as I've posted elsewhere.

Kane gets wrestled to the ground twice and nothing given, then Australia get a penalty for that? It would be ridiculous enough with an ordinary referee, with a VAR it's absolutely inexcusable.

I thought VAR was a good thing and absolutely required but in this World Cup so far it's been a total joke.

This is a pretty exciting world cup.

I mean, England won a game, had only won 1 game total in our previous 2 world cups.

Germany lost, i mean does it get much better than that ?

OK, so France are getting lucky, but we cant have everything.

Croatia looking great, Mexico looking good, Belgium looking like they might actually achieve something.

I feel we will be having a new world cup winner this year, someone who has never won it before.

Thanks for clarifying what a new winner means. You may well be right, but FFS don’t let it be Portugal!
