Did anyone watch the press conference if it was streamed? I'm interested to know why the story became about renewing Cabaye and Ward when the general understanding had been that others were at the ends of their contracts too? Wondering if any others quietly renewed a la McArthur.

Sako has had a really bad injury but before that was turning into a decent striker. Keep we need to me honest, for his massive wages over 4 seasons(?) we may aswell have had an academy graduate inthr squad on 10% of his wages. this guy has earnt over £8m in wages for what? he has made an efffort to earn a new contract, if he was that good we wouldnt have needed to sign wickham or bentekkers.

I dare say there will be a few and some that have served us very well, especially Jules and Delaney who have been unbelievable servants to the club. You could see both of them in coaching capacity roles, who knows?

Yes they have been here a long time and paid well for their services, but we need good coaches not just ex players.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Roy repeats we are losing good players..' by Midlands Eagle I am assuming that means RLC and TFM loans will not be renewed as things stand. Otherwise it must mean players who are out of contract that Roy thinks are " good " are not getting new contracts, or he is slightly bigging up players they want to sell. Certainly losing RLC would leave a significant role to fill in a fully fit squad

This post has been merged from a topic called 'RH calls out the yanks/Parish/deadly "Doug"' by Midlands Eagle Very interesting post game today. Hodgson basically called the transfer dealings in January totally &&&&, which they absolutely were, and indicated that with the amount of quality players leaving soon, the powers that be have a massive task in front of them this summer. Surprising for him to call out by name, Doug Freedman (thought it was Dougie ) Parish, and the yanks, by name. He basically said they better have a decent squad ready for him when he turns up for pre-season, or......well, or else I suppose. Here we go again, how many times dear Palace fans have we reached the point of safety, and dreamed of the elusive mid table mediocrity that Everton fans love to hate. Alas how many times has that been shot to #### with an utterly piss poor transfer window, lack of ability to keep a manager etc etc. Can a leopard change its spots? We are about to find out. Parish has presided over about 2 half decent transfer windows since we got promoted. The January window, coupled with the FDB appointment leave 2 very large, and very embarrassing black marks on Steve's report card. Hodgson made it very clear he felt January was sub par, in the extreme, and he was totally correct. Jach and Rakip....wtf? Add in the Ronnow fiasco, its laughable: RLC and Cabaye are probably leaving, that is 2 critical starters in our midfield, to name but 2 of the upcoming holes we will see for next year. RH has done a fantastic job, and needs to be backed, not made a fool of, like in January where he said 80 times we needed to sign another keeper. Lets see what that leopard can do about those spots, eh.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'RH calls out the yanks/Parish/deadly "Doug"' by Midlands Eagle After the Jan window shambles why is Freedman still here ? Roy made another good point in that you can’t have a miracle every season and avoid the drop against all odds. We have had what 3 miraculous escapes in recent seasons.....it cannot go on.

I don't thimk you represented RH very well in your post but he certainly calls on the board and Dougie in regards to the tough job they have to make sure that next seasons squad is capable of a decent season, next time out. Here is the linke for his Post Match chat..

We have had what 3 miraculous escapes in recent seasons.....it cannot go on. That one free transfer I would like to see. We need someone who knows what they are doing with transfers. The sooner the club wake up to that the better. I may be surprised in the summer, I'm open but I'm not confident.

I never read sports witness now. weird s*** tends to happen to my phone if I do. the post-match interview somebody else put up made no mention of January and simply made the point we need to replace some good players. Which we obviously do.
