I'll just repeat: im convinced Benteke was a yanky signing and strongly believe they led on Sakho too. I think Parish would not have bought either of them without the Americans involvement. I also think they were the wrong signings for us.

whether we stay up or drop (I think the former), I believe we are in the financial s*** a bit now. will they dig us out of it?

Bingo. Parish is beyond reproach. He cannot be criticized or cast in a negative light. How blinkered is that?

When Parish kicks a poodle, its the dog's fault. Or it was the condition of the pavement which made him kick the dog. Or it was the dog's agent. Or the last guy who kicked a dog was kicking it so much harder. Or the next guy might just take a dog's head off with a huge bicycle kick, and everyone should live in fear of that.

Maybe the next guy wouldn't kick the poor little poodle at all.

Deal with the fact that some fans dont think Parish is the right person to lead this club forward and out of perennial relegation scraps, year after year. My evidence behind that statement is our league position, and p&ss poor squad depth in goal and up front - 2 fairly important areas.

you may have a point about teke, but as financial wise we are in a lot stronger place the club is not going to put (us) sorry they are not going risk losing millions again and go into liquidation, hence the tight reins

For all the comments about the transfer policy I think as we are not the most attractive club, we will normally find ourselves having to wait and hope that players do not get other offers. Sadly this is something that will continue unless some multi billionaire takes over(I would not want this).

We just have to accept this will happen most transfer windows, plus teams will push for as much as possible and unless we are prepared to continue to pay over the odds we need to stick to our guns.

Parish has always said he does not want to see the club end up in the same mess as in the past, and therefore needs to continue to be careful with how he spends the cash we have. We also have the stadium to consider which is in desparate need of an upgrade.

there you go its parish at fault the yanks have no say, there worth more, money wise. so do you honestly think they have no say with the running of the club.who do you think is funding the work to the ground, also any transfers lets go into admin again just to keep you happy, the yanks and parish are doing best with the budget they have, glad your not running the club we would be dead and gone within a year

If you can't live with it find a different team to support. Chelsea Man U Man City. Face the fact we are punching above our weight. Have one of the most expensive squads in Europe. Our squad depth is poor this is mainly due to the fact we have spent our transfer funds on a few players not increase squad depth. Many people on the Hol were calling for Sakho Cabaye and Benteke to be signed and Wilf to get his wage increase. I am not saying these were all wrong but this is where the money went. Due to FPP we have a limited spend.

I get the impression that we weren't in for Tosun. He seems to have been someone that Sam wanted when he was here and we could have had him for half what Everton ended up paying for him.

I think that you'll find that most of us would have been happy with us signing a goalkeeper and a mid table position

Painter, you sure are a forgiving character. If Parish egged your house I think you would make an excuse for that - maybe he was letting off some much needed steam.

What previous chairmen have done is completely, utterly, and totally irrelevant to this discussion. As OP I am talking about the next chairmen, or at least the next person to run transfers and managerial matters.

The club is in a completely different state of affairs since the Noades, Jordan and Goldberg era's. Noades, Jordan and Goldberg existed at a time when the game of football was completely and utterly different to what it is today. The sums of money involved for just being in the premier league are at levels that Jordan could only dream of, and the way transfers work now is very different too. The world has changed, sport included, and especially the premier league.

I did not post the OP because we got spanked by a lacklustre Everton, as I pointed out.

Mark my words, print it out, laminate it and put it on the wall. Parish is NOT the right person to move this club forward, that is a fact and cannot be disputed based on the last several seasons.

Here we are, once again, a few points out of the relegation zone.

Parish admitting making mistakes is not quite good enough to explain away the absolutely awful decisions he has made lately involving FDB, and signing players (or failing to do so, time and again).

I have a team of people who work for me, some are good at what they do, some are sh&te. The good ones can be left alone to get the work done, no worries. The sh&te ones keep making the same mistakes over and over again, they cannot, or will not learn from their mistakes.

Their character traits keep influencing their decision making, and they make idiotic decision, after idiotic decision.

I for one dont think I want someone who makes clangers in the magnitude of the FDB fiasco pulling the strings anymore at this club.

Are you happy we have 1 fit keeper? Are you happy we had 1 fit striker when Benteke went down? Its not rocket science or brain surgery level of difficulty for Parish to have not presided over those almighty cock ups. He just had to act decisively and firmly and address those transfers. Alas...he was unable.

I read your post with some relief that you aren't perfect and have employed some sh_te people, but you don't accept that other people can make the same error.

Referencing past Chairmen is relevant, as they have all had an opportunity to progress the club and all failed. It doesn't matter what era it is, the task is the same.

I doubt you were or any other poster privy to the negotiations on any transfers, but prefer to make up your own version to suit your agenda.

The harsh reality is, we and all apart from about 8 clubs are going to be relegated at some point. So what is the progression you want? we don't generate the same income as a lot of Premier teams as our match day revenue is limited due to the size of the Stadium, which Parish is trying to address, until then is always going a them and us situation. Past Chairmen haven't been able to improve the Stadium as Noades held the keys and stopped us trying to progress.

Southampton always seem to be held up, as a well run club, we should aspire to be, but it looks like they may struggle to survive.

Nobody is perfect, who do you think is perfect to run our club?

Thats pretty rude.

You dont know what this club means to me and my life, and what I have sacrificed over the years to see games and support this team.

I find it very rude to suggest I support a different club just because I dont think Parish is running it correctly.

Suggest you learn to understand people have different opinions to you without trying to tell them they have no right to support the Palace.

Our squad depth is poor for one reason, and one reason alone. The person running the day to day operations of this club and the transfers - Steve Parish.

If Guaita had a release clause that was too high, then FIND ANOTHER KEEPER in the entire world that we can sign. For example Ronnow - oh wait we tried but left it too late.....again. If Guaita's club were playing silly buggers, then once again, find another goalkeeper to sign....dont sit and wait, diterhing around, playing mind games, and get burned, just like on Niasse. Talk about history repeating itself.

Dont leave it to the last minute, again, miss out, again, and try to sign Ronnow and foul it up, again.

I will ask again, are you happy with us being 1 back spasm away from Dion Henry as our number 1, and do you even believe in Hennessey - the guy should have been replaced YEARS ago, not just months. We signed Mandanda, he left, then we just forgot to sign another goalie? Maybe Parish didnt set a reminder on his Iphone?

Were you happy with not signing a striker in the last window? Name another team is this league who is thinner in both goal and attack combined. Those are quite important areas. Keeping goals out, and putting goals in.
