Swansea's mistake wasn't selling their best players but not replacing them. It was a similar mistake that Everton made by not replacing Lukaku and we made by selling all our strikers bar one. Southampton have shown that it's possible to be successful when selling their best players as they always replace them properly Talk on here has been about Swansea selling Llorente and Sigurdsson but they also sold Cork. I believe this fetched Swansea £70 Mill +. Striker Baston who cost then in excess of £15 Mill is on loan at Malaga. One of my contacts in Spain was at the Real Madrid v Malaga game last month and informed me that Baston came on as a sub. They brought in Clucas,Mesa,Sanches, Bony and Abraham but these players have not stepped up to the plate. Edited by Willo (19 Dec 2017 1.50pm)

Everton didn’t replace Lukaku, as there was nobody of his quality available, who wanted to go there.. With £75 mil they could've found someone with plenty of options if they'd done their homework but in the forward line their homework didn't venture away from the panini album.

In modern day football you can't expect players like Zaha to stay at Palace for their careers - you get the best you can out of them for as long as you can and then they move on for the best deal you can get. Making a player sty once they have decided that they need to leave is counter productive.

Matt Le Tiss staid at Southampton his whole career, I'm sure he had offers, in fact seem to remember him turning down Chelsea.

He will possibly go in January. The press is full of stories about him going here or there already which I guess is his agent stirring the pot. Would this be right for the club? I doubt it, he is on fire right now and getting better, but money talks and if the player is convinced by his agent that the grass is greener then seems little point in trying to keep an unhappy player

Look back at the moaning and whining when Murray and Jedi left, now the same people are hoping Zaha leaves, doesn’t make sense.

Most of these articles suggest that January is unlikely and the end of the season is when a deal could happen. I would think there's a strong chance he will leave then, especially if he continues his current form. The speculation will only intensify so we might as well get used to it.

I think a lot will depend on what division we are in. If we are relegated he will go to highest bidder. If we keep current form then I think he will be here next year unless we get an offer we can't refuse RLC and Abraham plus some money ?

Earlier on you ignored my answer and now you are implying that people want him to leave - I've not read every page but I doubt that anyone has said that they want him to leave, and I know I haven't, it's just a fact that with his ability he will need to and deserves to play at a better level than we will likely ever be able to offer, bar doing a Leicester. Wilf is seriously good, if he doesn't play in the champions league it would be a travesty.
