It's perfectly legitimate to question the way the club is run as that does, like it or not, effect the way we play on the pitch. Roy may or may not be able to turn it around, and I'm all for giving him a chance to do so, but that doesn't exonerate Parish entirely from some of the responsibility for our current position. Didn't he told his hands up and say he's made mistakes?

Will it be a better, clearer, more informative response than what we got? Oh and confirm to me you actually listened to the whole thing before making an assumption on how the interview was conducted. Not saying people commenting haven't but...you know... If there's good feedback, we can incorporate it next time. When Parish said we maybe suffered as the manager search took too long, and got muddled - would have been really great to ask him why it took so long and got muddled then? Honestly after listening I feel you were harder on him than usual, so fair play. Sure you could have gone after him more (I am sure you spoke to him up front on what was in or out of bounds also) but compared to past interviews, and also your general tone when talking about Parish (making excuses for every single mistake he has made) I think this was actually a step in the right direction. Parish strikes me as someone who is very loathed to admit he has actually made a mistake. For example we didnt sign a striker as he messed it up, not lack of money or something else. He waited way too late and then didnt have a plan B, simple.

I am a fan of Parish and I love the fact that our Chairman is a Palace fan through and through. However, it does feel like he's slowly coming to a point where he needs to take a step back from the 'day to day' running on things and let the manager and a director of football take over. He really does sound far too involved in the little things than he should be now. Perhaps getting someone like Nicola Cortese (ex-Southampton DoF / CEO) would help.

Sure, but why do we go year after year, transfer window after transfer window, man management of managers and managers and then more managers, and keep making the same mistakes over and over and over again? That is the question. Parish has been doing this way too long to make the pigs ear he did of the transfer window just now. No striker or keeper is simply crazy. What concerns me is not that someone is making mistakes, which is human, but the same mistakes time and again. This shows a fundamental issue.

Because until now we've got away with it, even though it's cost fortunes on things such as Adebayor, Pardew's extension, pva or Schlupp or both and getting someone else earlier.....and now Frank and whatever fallout. Been lucky and/or costly until bith run out. Signed, S. Holmes.

Say some, whilst others believe is was down to Parish telling him about the upcoming transfer strategy, or lack thereof. Bottom line is we dont know, but there is no smoke without fire. Why could Pulis build long successful relationships with Stoke and now West Brom, but not Palace. Also mate you have cherry picked my post there, what about all the other things I said? I hire and fire in my profession and what I consider to be unacceptable is someone who cannot learn from their mistakes. I dont know what is wrong with Parish but he seems to make the same basic errors year after year. We cannot keep on that way and expect to keep avoiding the drop. The management of the squad lately has been extremely poor, we have 3 left backs and Joel Ward, 1 striker, and 874 centre backs. I fear that sooner or later the wheels are going to fall off with Parish driving, even if he has put under soil heating in. Please Steve, show us all that you can actually learn from the constant errors, and thus stop making them. Hasnt happened so far for some reason.

Perhaps if you did not keep on harping on about SP people might not pick you up on it. SP said last night he had made some howlers and is doing his best to put it right and he has had the guts to admit it.
Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky. |

He has been honest and admitted the mistake but it was one that was made with the best of intentions.
