You will see from my post that I actually 'Parked' this argument. And it was CPFC2010 who jointly made the funds available.

What a lot of emotive rhetoric and hogwash. Steve Parish doesn't need me to defend him as he is more than capable of doing that himself but I will make a few points in response to the tirade : "Haven't developed the ground" - Thank goodness we have a ground of our own to do so. Who has this been down to ? Not wholly Steve but you get my drift. Leaving aside the "They saved the club" etc etc, Parish has been at the helm during our now record 5 seasons in the Premier League. Managers : He appointed Holloway who was in the 'Chair' when we were promoted. He appointed Pulis who joined when we we 19th and he saved us from the drop. And of course he appointed Pardew who joined us when we were 18th and he also saved us from relegation. Not forgetting of course Allardyce. So whilst once can hurl negatives, let's not pretend that there have been NO huge positives whilst Parish has been at the club.Nobody is perfect of course but let's give credit where credit is due.
Edited by Willo (29 Aug 2017 2.37pm) Willo so you point is we are lucky to have our own ground? like every other team in the premier? Nothing special there? and the fact that we are always having to bring people in to save us from relegation due to poor appointments in the first place by Steve Parish, I would not say that's much of recommendation for our current Chairman

When all is said and done Parish is a Palace fan, just like us. I'm sure he's doing what he believes is best for the club, as we would. Thing is what some believe is different to what others believe. I mean, there's no way me and Croydonlad would run the club the same way, but we would both be doing what we believe to be right. Personally I'm with SP wanting to change our approach, Croydonlad would rather carry on with the backs to the wall counter style. Both valid, neither worthy of constant abuse just because of a few games not going your way. You never know what will happen, cos in football there are no guarantees.

Edited by Willo (29 Aug 2017 2.37pm) Good point well made Willo. Im also tired of the constant pantwetting moaners. Yeah its tough and people have a point about FdB who I agree was a bad choice. But it's 3 games in, we are 1 win away from getting out of the bottom three and Parish is clearly aware things are not going well. He can't do anything till after the window shuts because otherwise with no manager we get no players. Some of the people on this board need to get a grip. As for SP not having a legacy, saving the club, our longest stint in the PL ever, a cup final and owning our own stadium and training ground while rebuilding the facilities year on year isn't a bad start in his first 7 years as chairman.

As for "save us from relegation", Pulis replaced Holloway who resigned, the same Holloway who was in the 'Chair' when we went up.Allardyce of course replaced Pardew, the same Pardew who had also saved us from the drop and took us to an FA Cup final.

Majority of our players aren't comfortable in possession and parish knew this especially when pardew experimented. Granted de Boer hasn't had the funds but it was the wrong appointment. It's basically a similar group that failed in a possession based style. This for me why parish is to blame. I wish that the search facility on this forum was developed enough so that I could look back a couple of months and see what your comments were when Frank de Boer was appointed. Not just you but a large number of others shouting that Parish is an idiot that doesn't know what he is doing were very pleased when de Boer's appointment was announced but fickle football fans are constantly rewriting history just like Winston Smith in 1984
